Dingga is a slang word meaning fool around and have fun. I like that they translated it for us in the first line ("I wanna play around"). Dingga was a pre-release single from the Travel album, which came out during the pandemic. Dingga was Mamamoo's way of trying to cheer us up while we were socially distant. In the MV they fantasize about things they wish they could do with friends of all ages - drinking like a fish, going out for ice cream, roller skating, playing children's games, etc. Too bad you didn't find the Um Oh Ah Yeah MV on MMM's yt channel. For almost all MMM MVs prior to 2018 you have to watch the version on their channel if you want subtitles. RBW always releases two official MVs - one on MMM's channel and the other on a music distribution channel like 1theK or Stone Music Entertainment. The older vids on Stone Music Ent are almost never subtitled. It's best to go to MMM's yt channel and use the channel search field to find the MV you want. Explaining the UOAY MV takes a bit of an essay. It helps to know what the song is about, which is a woman turning gender roles upside down by taking the lead to initiate a relationship with a guy. Um Oh Ay Yeah is the sequence of their emotional responses when they spot a hot dude lol. In the MV they flip the gender script by cross dressing and they also invade male spaces by setting the dance scenes in a barber shop and a public men's room. The point of all the farcical scenes is to make fun of male sexual fantasies, crimes and misbehavior so you've got Hwasa acting like a hormonal gorilla attempting to assault Solar, who responds by trying to drug Hwasa's drink. Solar pursues Moonbyul (who Solar thinks is a guy) by playing roles straight (so to speak) out of male porn fantasies: a flirty French maid, a "coffee, tea or me" stewardess from the era pre-dating the term flight attendant, and a hot to trot night nurse. Solar also attempts to assault Moonbyul and only gives up when roller skating girl comes in and asks Moonbyul, "Unnie (older female friend), who is this girl?" So in addition to the gender confusion & satire they ask the question "What if you thought you were straight but found yourself attracted to someone of the same gender?" As with most Mamamoo MVs, there's more going on than meets the eye on first view, and it's just like Mamamoo to slip in social commentary and satire into a fun, upbeat song and a goofy Only Mamamoo MV. I agree - Decalcomanie is one of Mamamoo's and kpop's best songs. You gotta check out some of the live performances. It's one of their most difficult vocal songs, esp while dancing, but they're always best when live and Decalcomanie is no exception. I think you got the basic meaning of the kissing scenes but imo removing the blindfolds symbolizes the loss of sexual innocence and the fruit squishing was so over the top it was comical, esp the groaner of a pun with the cherry popping image. Mamamoo love songs are usually more visceral than the PG greeting card sentiments expressed in most pop songs. Whether they're falling for someone or breaking up, feelings associated with love, passion and desire are often risky business in MMM songs and Decalcomanie is a good example. The point of having one guy play the lover to all the girls is that the song is about their experience rather than his so he's irrelevant as an individual. It's also irrelevant but amusing to note that the male actor is actually gay. In the original MV he grabbed Solar and pushed her up against the wall of the elevator before kissing her. Fans immediately flooded RBW with complaints and within a day RBW removed the MV and had it re-edited to tone down that scene. When asked about it Solar said she didn't have a problem with the original scene and I always wondered whether it was her idea to begin with. It would be just like Solar to push the envelope in a song where passionate desire feels dangerous and out of control. The jazzy intro and kissing interlude music is from MMM's song Memory. Memory is a b-side as well as the literal title track on their Memory album. Imo that exemplifies the absurdity of kpop referring to the main single from an album as the "title track." 🙄

I also agree that Decalcomanie is one of the greatest kpop songs of all time. It's epic. The live stages are incredible too.

It's when you hear some one else cover decal that you realise how good the vocals are of Mamamoo.

They're so meaningful to me. I really love to listen to every song of them. My first impression of Décalcomanie eight years ago was especially powerful since I saw them perform it live before the music video was even released. Their live performances of these songs are insane. They've multiple live performance versions. Still, I feel so happy and emotional about their songs /+300 songs/.

😂😂😂😂 your reactions are so fun & entertaining! Yes, this is one of those songs with great "climaxes" from pre-chorus leading to chorus! The squashing of those fruits could symbolize several things. 1st would be a reference ro the song title of the technnique of decalcomanie, but if u watch the mv and notice that those fruits are squashed as they looked like they are kissing >>> lips-on-lips. Then, as you also pay attention to the lyrics, apart from kissing.... It could have meant to hint at something more sensuous or developmental e.g. kissing/getting intimate >>> blossoming into a woman, reaching a milestone >>> them celebrating at the last part of the song. Regardless of how one could interpret this song, and/or the mv, i really love this song a lot!!❤❤❤❤

The way I interpreted the kissing scene in Decalcomanie (which btw, is the full name of the word decal, not sure if you picked up on that cause a lot of people miss it lol) is that the fruits were a representation of their love. The song is about that moment between you and someone who likes you back, where you know you're both interested and want something more but you're just lingering in that moment before taking the next step. And they're saying they want to take that step because they're ready. You can take that to mean they're ready to explore a relationship with the person or that they're already together but ready to be intimate. I think both work. But the fruit represents their passion for the person they like. They are like ripened fruits- they have spent this whole time becoming more and more infatuated so they are now 'ready', or ripe enough to eat. (lol) I'm glad you appreciated that part. It tends to make me laugh, just cause I always end up thinking of the BTS of the MV shoot and how awkward and shy the girls were with filming that part. Wheein kept running away from him as soon as they cut. But most people find the scene uncomfortable and disregard how artistic and visually stunning that section is.

In case you missed it, in the end of the um oh ah yeah mv the girl came in and said “sis, who is this girl?”, and solar replied “she’s a girl??? Oh my gosh!!!” Very funny with the subtitles haha
