6th they dont overdance they overperform (personally i find that theres a difference) Also i like to say stuff cuz why not (pls dont get offended or anything this is just my opinion) -overperforming: a state where an individual overdoes factors along the lines of facial expressions, body language(including dancing), etc. Leaving a some or most of the audience feeling very overwhelmed -overdancing: factor than comes in overperforming where one's movement and body language doesn't line up properly with the medium ( in this case the song) that they are performing (intensity wise) -I feel like kyujin doesn't really overperform, but in the case of san i feel that he does have moments where he does his aggesive style of performing too much making it overwhelming for some -these r just random opinions i would love to know your thoughts hehe

@@bluebirdj2133 i have to respectfully disagree ... all of ateez dances and has the same facial expressions like san if u really watch all of their fancams or just live performances in general. especially seonghwa, hongjoong and even sometimes jongho & wooyoung. I feel like if he was "over performing" their company/choreographer would've said something by now... whenever he does covers of songs his demeanor is like the vibe of the song, same with their happy songs. (like eternal sunshine or illusion) he changed facial expressions, stage prescense and his aura because the song is joyful and happy compared to a song like hala hala or guerilla. if you look at blk hip hop dance groups or even majorette dance groups they have a lot of similarities especially with the intense facial expressions and powerful dance moves with their hype songs.. (from my experience and what i've grown up with) .. him and ateez give top tier performances and if i'm not mistaken, they started out as a dance group before they became idols.. i personally don't see the problem with it since i'm so used to dancers with that type of stage presence. Ateez never everrrr has boring performances and that's what i really enjoy about their stages and choreography compared to other groups.. (especially san) but that's just my take on it. 🤷🏽‍♀️sorry if this is long just tried to explain a lot lmao

imo they do a little too much on stage. i don't like using the term "overdancing" cause i feel like it's a bit inaccurate and is just used to tear down energetic dancers (when in reality that's how most professionals dance and kpop idols tone it down a lot), but honestly i do understand what people mean when they say idols like san and kyujin overdance or overperform. doing a lot on stage doesn't automatically make you a good performer. instead of looking at things more technically, i feel like it's better to just watch a few performances from an idol and decide if YOU personally feel like they're a good performer because different styles of stage presence works for different idols. so where one idol might look awkward as hell trying to perform a cute concept, for another idol, they could be really attention grabbing. or there are even some idols who don't do much on stage (whether it be with their facial expressions or how they dance) and still manage to attract attention and make the performance enjoyable. at the end of the day it's all about a combination of your personal preference and how the idol performs the concept they're doing. but yeah, honestly imo san & kyujin do do a little too much on stage, i haven't watched many san performances recently but kyujin especially i feel does too much, like when i was watching the soñar music video i sort of cringed when kyujin came up because she is SUPER talented don't get me wrong but i feel like she needs to tone down her stage presence a bit in order to find the style that works for her without looking weird or doing too much (this isn't me trying to tell her to lose her style or personality but you can definitely perform in a way that still follows your personal style and is nice to look at and attracts the audience to watch your performance)

2:11 Idols are humans. They also need to eat and having money to live decently. Most "nugu" groups get their first paid after a tour. Concerts are the reason why Kpop companies are not in deficit and are able to pay their artists. So I disagree, the most groups go on tour, the least I'm worried for them. The only issue is to not have dates too close and frequent, to be able to rest. But Idols need Tours, in order to live comfortably.

The way people are saying Itzy is better as 4 while Lia is Itzy's main vocalist and the most stable when it comes to live singing baffles me. I'm not sure at which point Kpop fans started prioritizing dancing and synchronizing over actual singing but it needs to be stopped. We got some of the most popular groups who's live vocals should improve and the most talked about idols are almost never about actual talent anymore.

5:22 FINALLY someone talking about this. I’ve seen people go to all sorts of lengths to justify the mistreatment he gets and defending wakeone. I’ve also seen people say he gets all the attention but that’s funny because he consistently gets the least schedules (only TWO during crush era while other members got 3-5 times that amount), least ending fairies, least tiktoks and social media posts, and it’s suspicious as hell how he wasn’t able to message fans on bubble for an entire month after the whole manager thing happened. I’d understand if this only happened once or twice but this happens SPECIFICALLY to ricky repeatedly. There’s this person on twitter who updates their ricky mistreatments thread weekly that’s how bad it’s gotten, and non fans don’t even know about this because of how popular he is. Ricky has always expressed his love for social media and since debut he always said he’d post a lot but that’s never been able to happen because of wakeone. for me, I actually loved a lot of debuts this year, my favorite has been pow's; I've had the whole EP on replay since it's release. Some other I liked were: zb1, boynextdoor, riize, tripleS (every sub unit), 82major, evnne, mave:, one pact, 8turn and the wind. For the opinion about Fantasy Boys it's really sad 'cuz most people were like me: they were stanning for junwon and didn't even watch the show. Also, the fact that ksoul debuted and the maknaes are from 2009 make them drop the group. Their title tracks are good tho

I kijda have to disagree with the overperforming is nonexistent opinion cuz for me it definitely exists HOWEVER i do think stage presence is subjective | lets use san from ateez as an example -many ppl hav said before that he has an overwhelming sp making him seem like he just does facial expressions without putting into mind that he should appropriately capture the vibe of the song that they are performing. -but we also have other ppl who actually likes this style of performing and that is totally fine Conclusion: Overperforming exists for the reason that there is a portion of people that does fet overwhelmed with a particular performing style, but its totally fine to like overperforming cuz thats your preference

I'm not too familiar with them but from what I've seen I think Seugmin(?) is the only good/decent vocalist in that group. The rest lack seriously in technique but I do think they've been improving lately. Seungmin? is a pretty promising vocalist tho, he's no Onew or Jonghyun but he's definitely not bad! And yeah, I do think that when people say they are good vocalists, they just think they have nice tones which is completely subjective

they don’t sing like that in their title tracks, the bsides is where you’ll find the vocals, but all of skz have pretty good voices, some better than others, like han, seungmin, bang chan, i.n, and lee know, for example, especially han and seungmin, which is more than half of the group, but overall, they’re pretty good

tbh itzy looks better performance wise as 4, but that completely makes sense bc lia is a vocalist, and the group still doesn’t feel right without her considering her vocals balance the group like perfectly. so therefore, in general i don’t think itzy is better as 4.

A performance is more than just dancing. Itzys vocals without Lia are too lacking. I disliked the last comeback just because of that. Kpop groups are made of three things dancing, singing, and rapping. Not just dancing

3. I think that it is fair to say no debuts wowed you but its unfair to not acknowledge the talent of some of the newly debuted groups while making that statement 4. Could not agree with you more. I would've loved talk saxy if they just added something to the chorus they tried to go for the anti drop empty only vocals type thing which doesn't work when the rest of the song sounds empty as well. I don't think dramas chorus is that bad not the greatest chorus however the unlike talk saxy the rest of the song really delivers. I might be completely off on this take as I haven't listened to the song Drama today however if the song was given a full course I think it could be too much 5. I can understand disliking xmas stuff especially if you dont celebrate the holidays however having xmas releases is perfect for December when all the award shows/performances are going on. Without xmas releases December would be rather empty because there would be little to no comeback releases 8. Its important to acknowledge the massive lack of understanding when it comes to vocals especially with different techniques and tones people having no knowledge of that call vocalists bad when that is not the case it is most commonly a mere dislike in a voice tone. Prime examples of this are Soyeon and Wonyoung 9. I disagree with this one. Kpop itself is made up of three things singing, dancing, and rapping that is what makes kpop kpop so not including things like dance breaks would not work because one it would be unfair to the members who are strong in dance not allowing them to showcase their strengths and two it would really lessen the importance of dance in kpop when all three things are equal 11. Things are overdramatized due to fandom culture which is another thing that makes kpop distinct from other genres. I could talk all day about fandom culture but my main point is its import to acknowledge that as toxic as it is it is actively being fed by companies and idols themselves 12. Youre talking about how idols need breaks but I don't see how that has anything to do with going on tour. That is pure scheduling and spacing out each activity allowing time for breaks and rest 13. Mixpop is a genre that is hard to listen to and is for a niche audience I hate how people are hating on it for being Mixxpop when they aren't even acknowledging how much easier and more widespread Soñar is compared to their other songs like Dice. I don’t know why people act like Lia not being apart of the group right now is a good thing or something. Like they act like she doesn’t bring anything to the group and of course they keep trashing her dancing. Like Lia really is needed in Itzy, she balances out the other members vocals really well and adds a certain tone and vibe to their songs.
