Permission to dance, butter and dynamite deserve to be here. We’d be kidding ourselves to call any of bts’ new songs masterpieces. They don’t hold up next to their older releases in terms of quality, storyline, lyricism, vocal production etc. Even the music videos lack the same budget their older ones had. Boy with luv at least does the happy pop sound right, I’ll give it that over dynamite. And sticker deserves to be here too for obvious reasons.

I honestly hold the strong opinion that you either love the bts pre 2019 or after. You must be a real hardcore if you like both of them. Like, a real real hardcore. I was a hardcore yet they still lost me with boy with luv. Like I literally couldn't enjoy any bts song other than Like black swan, on and ugh (and yes, I listened to all the stuff they put out, or almost all at least). The rest just feels completely off. Even with their solo stuff. Daechwita and arson hit super hard but the rest of these entire solo mixtapes and singles are just ??? To each their own though, I completely see their charme. I still mourn the old bts, that's why I can't get myself to enjoy the new stuff.

1. Dynamite - Was one of my fav songs of 2020 (got me into kpop) but I heavily overplayed it and don’t really like it anymore (also the auto tune was very harsh) I can say the same for Butter too. 2. Boy with luv - yeah I agree it’s not a bad song but it’s very mainstream pop which just isn’t up some people’s ally. 3. Permission to dance - again it’s very mainstream pop, it’s peppy and sounds like a Disney channel song which a lot of people can’t stand. 4. Kick it - Another song I liked initially but the chanting chorus can get irritating and the instrumental can be incredibly jarring. Anyways that’s my understanding as to why the creator wouldn’t like some of these songs.
