They're trying to do that with txt too. So sad to see them have to go through that instead of finding their own color. The boys are very talented.

@@Ot8skzyeah but txt have always explored every genre! Even in English songs. Magic is generic pop, DBTW is r&b/soul, and BFM is latin pop. I think it’s okay for the company to want to make a few mainstream songs bc that’s what brings many fans in. And txt and bts still continue to have their own music. It’s only one song per album.

That’s why Run BTS is one of my favorite songs of theirs in recent years, and why Jungkook’s solo songs haven’t really done anything for me. All the other solo comebacks for me, minus Set Me Free by Jimin (but *including* Like Crazy, Korean ver.) have really hit, ‘cause they feel very….personal, to the individual members. RM’s got that introspective rap style, Suga has his AgustD songs that just hiiiit, Hobi dove into grunge rock rap which I was NOT expecting but LOVED, Jimin’s was like, moody r&b, Jin had a very sentimental with this almost (to me) enchanted feeling, and V’s comeback has been my favorite, with a jazzy, smooth vibe. Jungkook’s is too western pop for my taste and it less memorable and more like it kinda blends into the sea of western pop, to me personally But yeah Run BTS is what I wish they had done more of and it’s what they SHOULD HAVE promoted into of Yet To Come, I think a more bombastic song like Run BTS would’ve generated a lot more buzz

finally some armys are covering such issue, they k-pop is being westernised to top due to U.S.markets, popularity, I loved bts till fake love, then life goes on , yet to come, in solo, jinnie people are literally sleeping on him, just bcs song isnt upbeat doesn't mean it's bland but soft soothing, uri agust-d fire mann no song to sleep on, jimin & v (like crazy, jazz music), j-hope, rm like frr , they deserve to be topped but jk is whole westernised I could listen his song anytime but what I wanted was uniqueness for which I choose kpop, euphoria can make me cry out of happiness but not western pop. yeah I forgot to mention run bts mann what a beautiful way of writing lyrics (meaningful & touching lyrics) for every army.

I understand where you are coming from. I really enjoy BTS for their authentic and personal lyrics. I however don’t agree that BTS should be limited to creating songs with that certain feel. I think that we can agree that BTS is beyond being limited to K-Pop. They include a variety of genres in their discographies because they enjoy creating diverse music. Saying that they became “too western” for creating this popular music is an example of the barriers they have to overcome as Korean artists. It is also apparent that they are not simply creating popular music for the fame. This is proven through their solo works. It’s important to acknowledge this and allow BTS to grow how they desire to.

For me, I love Butter the most out of those 3, PTD i always skip, and Dynamite can be a fun bop on shuffle. Butter to me is just unique enough to really hit, and I like the beat a lot lol. But man it makes me sad that Run BTS didn’t get as much international hype in comparison when it blows all 3 of those out of the water completely imo

I think you're entitiled to feel like this and it's not the first time I've heard the same thing. However, it screams of another case of complaining/leaving a fandom because an artist released 'mainstream' music. But even when they released those songs, their B-sides still celebrated the themes and styles that reasonated with old school fans. Moreover, most artists go through this... As commenters have noticed, as groups (particularly Kpop groups) aim for recognition from so-called Western media, music critics and awards like the Grammys they have to follow the formula. As we always knew the battle for recognition is ridiculously hard and so many Kpop groups and idols before BTS have done the exact same thing: Boa, CL, 2PM, Big Bang. And current artists are doing it now with releasing more only english tracks i.e. Seventeen with Darling and Black Pink with 'Typa Girl'. I am curious (no shade) why former Army feel the need to make content like this though 🤔 It feels...like it's not always done with the best intentions...More like utilising BTS' name for clout...😬

Ok but, why y'all are literally burning in the comments? She didn't make any kind of harmful or hateful comment about bts, she just said that their latest releases weren't of her liking which is completely fine, it's HER opinion, she´s not saying that their music now is bad. And it's not an unpopular opinion either since many people that followed BTS from the past have said the same thing (including myself). It´s just a matter of taste and engagement. She has the right to have her own opinions and likings.

Like literally kpop has it's own uniqueness i don't understand what is the point making pop Music other thing i want to say is that People say idols can do whatever they want to do but they should know what fans want to listen if fans don't want to listen pop music then why they still have to make pop music just because they want to win Grammy awards idk why it's the only reason i love 2nd gen the most also 3rd gen until they start to make more pop music And for 4th gen it's literally western style Music okay it's understandable internationally fans want some English songs but fans need to understand kpop is kpop for a reason i actually stopped listening to BTS because for me it's just a mess everything is just more like a pop music only solo i like was jimin's set me free and like me crazy pt 2 and i also left army fandom it's just a whole mess new armies are just wild they don't want to listen other don't want others to give their opinions don't want to accept that there are other artists who are actually way better then bts I'm sorry if anyone gets offended and too all fans i want to say is that loving your idols isn't wrong but hating other artists and fandom for being good is wrong No hate to anyone 🤍 And also my English is not good i hope you understand what I said 🤍

Firstly your English is not bad at all but please use punctuation to make it more coherent. Speaking/writing perfectly isn’t the goal, making your point and intent clear is. Secondly, kpop is pop music, just in Korean and they have a unique (and at times dangerous) idol system. Essentially, it’s basically pop music. I’m not saying your music tastes have to match mine, but the Grammys only give awards to basic music (which I don’t like either). As awful as the Grammys are, they are still considered a reputable award and highly honorable to win one, even though the voting committee is made up of corrupted racists who try to be “woke” sometimes. The only chance bts has to win a Grammy is to basically bribe the committee for the award. This was a legitimate issue back in 2020-2022 where we were finding out that artists with basic music are winning Grammys only by bribing the committee. Bts wanting to win the Grammys is not seeking for any validation though. Ask any artist from around the world, and most have dreamt of winning one, including 2nd gen kpop. In fact, they’ve tried to break into the west too several times but failed. Bts broke the glass ceiling with their authentic music and by staying true to themselves. They have only changed to have a chance at the Grammys, when they collaborated with Halsey and released 3 English songs. They’ve had many releases in between and it’s still authentic but people have intentionally ignored them. By saying that they’re just seeking for western validation just shows how little you and others understand about the music industry. I also was not a fan of their English songs, but it’s was obvious what they were trying to do. Dynamite happened to get popular by chance but that was the first release since the start of covid and it was released to cheer fans internationally since eng is a common language. Butter and ptd were strategically released tho. Bts have had many releases since then, but none of you can talk about it since it disproves the whole idea that they are seeking western validation now. Their solo songs (except Jk but he’s always been a fan of western styles tbh) reflect that they haven’t forgotten their passion and fans.

The only reason they released those songs was for a chance to get a Grammy. It’s so obvious that the Grammys only gives awards to basic songs and performances. When bts released their solo songs, life goes on, their anthology album, people completely ignored them. Esp life goes on. Their anthology album had three new songs, and bts themselves said that they released it just for fans since they’re on hiatus as a group for two years. It’s more of a letter for them. Just because it was a softer sound, fans practically ignored it too. I understand you did not like their English releases. I didn’t either. But it’s so obvious why they strayed from their typical style. Good authentic music does not win you a Grammy. This has been known for years. You’re all entitled to your own opinions but I feel like a lot of people saying they’re leaving the fandom over three songs and how “mainstream” they’ve gotten were in it for the exoticism and underdog phase. Again, if you don’t want to be a fan, that’s your choice and I respect it. But blaming it on their creative choices for three songs just makes no sense when they’ve had other releases in between.
@pearl7130
@pearl7130 9 ай бұрын
Omg yes like you let three songs Ruin your experience? Bts experimented and still is even with there own individual music I feel like as a fan you might not like all music that an artist makes but you shouldn’t leave the fandom because of that. Covid was such a hard time and they didn’t have much time to prepare no one did so it makes sense that they kinda toned down around that time and took the opportunity to experiment with music especially since it was dedicated to the fan which makes it so much more sad that people are leaving the fandom for that reason. In the end the real fans will stay and the ones that don’t bother to understand will leave bts fandom is growing each day.

it's not an unpopular opinion and i respectfully don't agree, especially because (i have been saying this for the last 2 years) bts released BE and their new tracks in proof between/after the 3 english singles. i feel like a lot of non-fans think three (3) english singles completely overshadowed anything else that they released. a lot of people are starting to say the same about txt when they at the moment only have 2 english singles and a korean album is coming in a few weeks (which i think again, people will be overlooking).

before anybody mentions the likes of jungkook's very western-focused singles, people just completely overlooked the other members' very much korean music (most especially d-day and jitb) over the last year. i feel like so much of what bts is still releasing is getting ignored specifically by non-armys thinking anything else they have in their roster is like dynamite/butter/ptd. that's literally 0.002% of bts' 10 years of music. (sorry for the rant, i just feel very strongly about bts' music)

I completely agree. personally I like dynamite as a casual listen though. but imo only dynamite, butter, and permission to dance sound kinda generic and just pop-y. yes their first albums sound more like traditional kpop than their later ones, but I still think the more recent ones in general have more substance and soul than those specific three songs that were absolutely meant to cater to very commercial western audiences. I think their solo music showcases themselves well too, it’s fun to listen to their completely solo stuff compared to like even their solos on wings and hear how consistent, similar, and authentic each of them are to their personal styles.
