@@ramzishinski4416 I am sure there will be many opinions on this matter but for the money I think a Vortex Diamondback tactical 4-16x50 in the 1st focal plane would be a good bet. (30mm tube) Probably better to get the MOA version vs the MRAD version on this setup. Everyone has different tastes and opinions on optics. If you can, go to your local gun shop and check out a few scopes to see what you like best!

The side mount issue is probably the worst thing about AK's. Open sights, comrade. Great video!

@@montanamusings there has been much advancement over the years on the mount systems for AKs, the yugo pattern ones on the other hand have been rather tricky but hopefully this is the fix for them! Thank You!!

@@cherry24v That is the AK type mount and would have placed the mount further back on the rifle than I would have liked, all the ak mounts I tested were like this so I went with an SVD mount and it worked perfect for me.

A red dot is more useful IMO.... for that rifle...

@@billfoster213 I agree, if the barrel was shorter then a red dot would be perfect but with the barrel close to 20" you should be able to get some decent accuracy out of it so I chose the scoped route. I have seen many go the red dot route with this rifle but personally I would like to stretch it out a bit.
