NOTES FOR ALL MY FELLOW PEOPLE HERE FOR HOMEWORK. Looking at still lifes of fruit is a useful way of studying how artists approach making shapes. When the beginning of a line connects with its own end, or intersects with another, a shape is formed. Shapes are 2-D. Geometric shapes: Triangles, Rectangles, Circles, Hexagons, the basic stuff. Organic: more free style, often one of a kind shapes. Shapes inherit the qualities from the lines used to make them.

This series of videos is FANTASTIC! I have always given my High School and Middle School students the Crystal videos on the Elements and Principles and frankly they are boring and the kids cannot relate. The artwork used in these videos is modern, fun, and interesting to the students. There was a lot of "whoa's" and "how cool!" comments from my Middle Schoolers today. PLEASE make a series on the Principles of Design that match this set of videos!
