Introducing the KR-9 by Kalashnikov USA. What is it? It is the Russian Vityaz. And if you are still wondering what it is, think of it as Russia's very own version of the H&K MP-5 sub machine gun.
The KR-9 is a ton of fun to shoot, especially suppressed. And to that end, it comes with a 9.25" threaded barrel at 1/2 x 28 thread pitch, making it easy to thread on suppressors. While this version is the SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) version with the triangle folding stock, they do offer pistols as well as rifles.

Wow! That malfunction where the shell casing dropped behind the trigger was happening to the PSA AKV. PSA fixed that issue. Maybe K-USA should look into their solution.

@8:30 PSA had the same issue with the AK-V... interesting. PSA did a great job fixing it... it's a great firearm at an unbelievable price, tbh.

PSA seems to make a better one with the empty casing getting stuck as a non issue, thanks to the Mac Bracket. And it's also made 100% USA. It's also about $400 less expensive I believe. PSA Also takes scorpion mags, which is a bonus.

Good review. Kalishnikov USA was new to me. I put a Krebs hinged rail on a Romainian AK that was built from a parts kit so I could run optics. That rail alone cost something like $300, but it worked good. Later I tricked out a FEG AMD65 and used the Ultimak railed gas tube to run a red dot and that worked out great.

In Russia we have Saiga-9 that very similar to LEAF Vityaz SN. KR-9 is like sivil replica of Vityaz SN. Saiga-9 has longer barrel allows rifle to be longer than 800 mm (russian law requirment) and because of longer barrel saiga 9 has heavier bolt. And yeah saiga-9 has 3-hole trigger group, it is semi, but very VERY easy to convert to FA and back. Alco has folding stock like original model without fire in folded position.

That casing problem you had is due to the AK's platform was not designed for small casings like 9mm. a 7.62 or 5.45 casing is too big to slip in between its lose inners.

That failure of the case getting stuck in the psa 9mm was pretty common so they welded in a bracket to prevent that from happening. Too bad kusa didn’t do the same.

if you wanna be taticool store ur sub gun in the footwell next to ur leg against the trans tunnel . it takes some getting used to and u can actually track ur assailants while reaching down and grabbing ur weapon. that way you wont loose ur targets if they move like you would if its stored behind u and u turn around to grab it. it also saves u precious seconds and prevents u getting shot in the back

Regarding that malfunction you experienced, the weapon can be modified to prevent ammo casings from going places they shouldn't. PSA calls it a MAC bracket.

not really a fan of aks but a pretty cool setup with the pack. since i’m in california i’m pretty much limited to the ruger. it’s a little heavy but quite accurate. mine works well with a tennis racquet cover for stealth carry. while being a tournament player 45 years ago i look pretty stupid carrying a racquet. the plus side is very few people can’t comprehend what’s wrong with this picture.
