I know exactly how you feel but you have to admit, it may be expensive but you will save thousands of dollars if you buy this. The VOX, Hammond, and Farfisa are all about the same price as this organ here. So if you bought all three of those organs, you are looking at around $8,000-$10,000. You can basically get all three for the price of one and also a pipe organ, so it really is worth the money, in my opinion.

i hate tweakers. guys with thousands of dollars of gear whose only passion is to turn buttons to seem like they know what they are doing. no wonder a plain serviceable keyboard looks to have half a hundred control elements. you sir are a real musician. very informative about the gear. if that nord wasnt so out of my price range,id get one based upon your demo itself. my extreme compliments

The C2D keybed is dynamically sensitive. Of course, the organ sounds are not touch sensitive…you would use a volume pedal to control the swell. However, it's important to note that if you took the MIDI output of a C2D and connected it to another instrument you could play dynamically sensitive instruments (like a piano) with full touch sensitivity. Chris, I am looking a move where I cannot take my 1955 B3 and Leslie, Hawaii. I have labored and dreaded the day when I have to let go of my prized instrument and have been very depressed about it lately. The Nord gives me a little hope that although the B3 will not be there for me, at least I can leave knowing I will have something in my recording studio that I can play that is the best simulation to date. I am so glad Nord put so much effort into recreating the closest digital replication. I can move a little happier now. Thank you for the awesome demo-

What is not to like about this portable organ? At the end of the video, you stated one of the most important features for a lot of people: this two manual instrument weighs only 30 lbs! That is a lot better than a 350-500 lb. and more in some cases Hammond Tone wheel Drawbar Organ, or an acoustic piano that can weigh half a ton!

This percussion demonstration is reminiscent of a xylophone or Celeste in the way that it sounds and responds, so that you can indeed play more than one note and sound them in sequence! Also, the pipe organ is quite like a Steere & Turner or other tracker action organ built in the 1880s! Again, not too bright, although you probably could model it this way, and seeming like you can even adjust the chiff, much as adjusting the key click on a Hammond Organ and the cheesiness on a Farfisa! Now, with the Vox Continental Organ, this was indeed a better emulation of a pipe organ, even after Laurens Hammond built his, intending originally to provide a cost effective alternative for smaller churches back in the mid 1930s!

I have a Nord electro 3, and its Hammond sounds blow away any other portable keyboard I've had. So the sound isn't going to be a problem on this one. BTW, I would call the two drawbar sections for each manual "Bb and B" not "A and B". Take a look at a real B3. The black keys at the left are not playable keys: they are switches. Like radio buttons, only one can be pressed at a time per manual. The top two swtiches, Bb and B, are used to select which drawbar set you are using for that manual. The reset of the black keys are presets.

This may sound obvious, but (for gospel) I wish I'd discovered it 30 years ago: attend church services at black churches. I didn't discover it until my drummer died and I went to the funeral at his church. My other suggestions are: play a real B3 for awhile. Stop reading music (except maybe lead sheets) and start playing 100% from listening. Get out to jam sessions once you have the vocabulary. Find a horn player who knows the jazz repertoire and jam tunes from the real book.

@shiningarmor28387 жыл бұрын
I know that these go down to 16' pitch without any trouble, and I doubt there is a 32' stop anywhere. If you want a sound in the bass register, yes. But, if you want the sound of an actual bass, that's harder to do.

Actually it is a good synthesizer, a good copy of legendary organ Hammond B3 but sincerely when we are a passionate organist, a purist, we do not play on a copy, but on real Hammond of the last generation (or a state of the art Hammond B3 for the road by Bertram) the famous series XK, what does best (XK3 / C and SK). Respect to Laurence Hammond. Furthermore, it is not more expensive, the price is perfectly affordable. On the contrary, Nord makes very goo keyboards piano, nearly the Kurzweil quality, a fabulous one touch, a magnificent sound, and a rather beautiful quality of manufacturing which let us let us say is not Asian it. The best copy of legendary HAMMOND organs comes from CRUMAR Mojo in ITALIA. Since the 70's there engineers work hard on the Hammond sound, they have the world greatest experience.

Sorry, things work fine till you slide your hand up and down. I have a 1972 original B3, the slide on Hammond sounds smooth, but why not on Nord, it not analog, sounds digital, our brain can hear all transitions of the plastic sound on slides. I understand that Leslie on CD have the same point of listening Nord, cause leslie explode the sound to differend positions of room. Thank you

Here is the kind(genre) of completely stupid answer. EDDY LOUIS a trés big organist world has just died, it was all its fidéle life in the organ HAMMOND. By respect for HAMMOND, I maintain him(it) an organist who respects himself cheek on organ Hammond. Furthermore, today Hammond produces the best organs portable Hammond. It is simple to understand(include). For me, what commits(hires) only me, the rest it is of the copy, the forgery(imitation). Greetings
@organeu10 жыл бұрын
GOOD ? YES. But, lovers of HAMMOND buy HAMMOND, the real one legendary B3 or unrivaled NEW B3 or for the road with "no place" the XK3/C. There is no organ with so amazing sound and so strong than the B3. More than 50 years after the origin, we still see many B3 on stage ! HAMMOND organ is a legendary trademark. The demonstrator is an excellent musician, a very good pianist, he masters synthesizers, but, luck, has no technique Hammond. Having said that, seen the price(prize), why to buy a mediocre copy of the mythical B3, while HAMMOND proposes the best of the clones of B3 with the new B3 and the famous XK3 / XK3C. In conclusion, which horror this keyboard on its really ugly support(medium). We would believe painter's table !
