For 1975 this was so ahead of its time. This wasn't just the birth of a band it was the birth of an entire genre.

I saw them in 1975. Grand total for 2 tickets was 12 dollars. 4 bucks for gas. Need enough to drive the gal out of the city to a place to make out. It was a home run evening. Was a wonderful time. No I don’t want to return to the 70’s. That was then. I don’t live in the past.

Kraftwerk was a blast to listen to in the 70s. Not really new,but a electronic vartion on best music. No guitars,very little drums,but everything was electronicly produced. No analog insturments as source. Still listen to these guys once in awhile.

It's funny how many americans think they say ''Fun Fun Fun On The Autobahn'' when it's actually ''Wir fahr'n fahr'n fahr'n auf der Autobahn''
@Aieaue
@Aieaue 6 жыл бұрын
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autobahn_(song) The lyrics of the song are in German, the main refrain being "Wir fahren fahren fahren auf der Autobahn" (English: "We drive drive drive on the Autobahn"). The chorus was often mistaken for the English phrase "Fun fun fun on the Autobahn" and thought to be a reference to the 1964 Beach Boys' song "Fun, Fun, Fun". ...

Musical minimalism at its best. Kraftwerk were groundbreaking pioneers of electronic music 45 years ago, and they still are today - better than ever and a musical 'gesamtkunstwerk' in each of their live performances. They accompanied my life, and I was with them all the way - built my 1st synthesiser, played their songs, etc. In my view one of the most iconic German bands of all theme; they should be elected to the Hall of Fame. Can anyone initiate this, please ?

I'm not sure who here in America would have been ready for them in 1975, or even 1985! In many places, we still had hippies running around and the "disco thing" really had yet to take off! You drop these guys off somewhere in the middle of Kansas or Oklahoma back in 1975, and people would have thought that musical SPACE ALIENS had landed!

It's amazing the simple melodies and bass lines Ralf and Florian came up with, and the sounds to go with them. And they come off sounding so BIG and dramatic, and subconsciously meaningful. Even with all the hard and software synths today and amazing sound quality, the music is just so lame, repetitive, and unmemorable. And Rolling Stone Record Guide called Kraftwerks albums "music to watch goldfish sleep by".
