This game's been on my radar for a while. As soon as I saw this game on Twitter, I went out and wishlisted it. There was something about the art style that made me want to know more about the game.
Thanks to GameAtomic providing me with a link to the demo, I got a chance to check it out. According to the developer, the game was inspired in part by Castlevania, Shovel Knight, MegaMan X, Zelda II, and many others. The only one of those games I played was Mega Man X (I know, I know...I'll get to them) and you could tell.
I don't really have much negative to say about the demo. I would have enjoyed the boss fights if they were longer, more grueling fights. I think I would have been fine with the game being more difficult overall, actually.
