This adorably small miniature bistro patio set has an actual working umbrella - crank and all! The tiny dime-sized pillows are my favorite part~
Oooohhh, gracious me.
WHAT. A. TIME. I'm just horrible to y'all. I need to post way more than I do.
My internet is still whack from the hurricane so everything here has been inputted manually (links and such). Hopefully, it all works.

Most miniature artists create their products in 1:12 scale. I create mine in 1:24 scale; twice as small! My main goal is to keep the detail in such tiny objects that if you were to look at it in a scene, you can’t tell it’s a miniature.
I upload a new video every Thursday (sometimes Friday), so please be on the lookout for new content! Subscribe if you haven’t, or if you were thinking about doing it~

What are you? Some kind of rocket scientist or something? How on earth could anyone figure out how to make that umbrella? Even if one could figure it out, having a hand steady enough to do it is almost supernatural. I'm glad you made it through that horrible hurricane unscathed and my heart goes out to those who didn't.

Good grief! I was already impressed by the butt marks in the chairs & the use-worn table, but when you got to the umbrella mechanics, I was gob-smacked .. and the teeny-tiny little acorn finial on the top was just darling!

I didn't realize you lived in Houston! I'm so relieved to know you faired OK in the wake of all the terrible damage in the area! As always, your work is amazing and I'm happy to see you back with this video. You're genius with making interactive pieces is a marvel to me and I really enjoy watching your creations come to life even if I couldn't manage the interactive parts of them myself if I try to recreate your work..lol! I hope you are able to continue your videos for a long time to come. Blessings from Saskatchewan Canada to all the people struggling in the aftermath of Harvey!

I remember Harvey! Our friends live in Houston and their area was flooded but their house was up higher so they were safe but were out of power for awhile and were trapped for a few days. Now they just survived SNOVID. They had to evacuate to stay warm and now have power but still no plumbing so bathroom bucket ends up outside in the snow :)

Girl - you are ALL THE WAY over the top! Definitely in a category all your own. You blew me away again with this one. How do you figure these things out??! Do you look up real manuals or do you do trial and error? I would love to make a working umbrella - not just a patio furniture one so would this tut work for just a regular umbrella?? I don't know if I could ever make it - you lost me during the part where you were sewing in the metal pieces - I wouldn't mind if your videos were actually longer and slower on those types of intricate details. God bless you and your family and I pray you are all able to fully recover from the devastation in the week to come!!
@KrakenMakeRuckus
@KrakenMakeRuckus 7 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, thank you! It always nice to hear from you! I looked at a patio umbrella online and thought about how the parts that I saw should move and work. I changed a lot of things about my design while making this. The only thing this umbrella actually needs to be truly better is a groove that the hooks can slide up and down on, without twisting. It was too late once I noticed, haha. I almost put this video into 2 videos because of the amount I had to explain. :/
@TodaysSpecialMinis
@TodaysSpecialMinis 7 жыл бұрын
By all means - if you need to make a video that is 60+ minutes - you do it! Craftmanship like this - no one minds how long the video is. And truly, the people who would mind are probably people who just like watching other people make things - people who make things, too, never complain about length unless the person spends a lot of time babbling (and some do). Girl, you need to teach classes! Uhm...in 1:12 though because you can't expect mere humans to try to attempt doing this any smaller... I felt like I needed 3D glasses watching this! LOL - the piece actually look huge here, but I can only imagine how tiny they are in real life. And YASSS!!! I know what you mean about the hooks, but I actually like the little twist - it was satisfying to watch it made it even more interactive. You are a master - do you do this just for yourself or do you also submit these things for classwork???
@KrakenMakeRuckus
@KrakenMakeRuckus 7 жыл бұрын
I definitely like teaching people things a lot. I'm hoping that these tutorials kinda count for that, but I know I leave some of the more boring sanding and filing bits out, hahaha. My first miniature was my first video on this channel a whole year ago - the wooden crate. I watched KZbin miniature artists all the time and just knew that I could/wanted to do the same, but smaller and more defined/real. I guess after making videos this past year, I developed my own style niche. So, that's pretty cool, hahaha.

Hey there, Moms!!! How cool it is to see you on here. Yeah, your daughter is like - beyond. I totally wish I could create this masterpieces - and it's even more amazing because her scale is way smaller than the one I work in. I can't even imagine having the patience to deal with such tiny pieces all the time. I am working on a replica/redesign of my sister's classroom and couldn't be bothered t do it in 1:12 (too big) so decided to do it in 1:24 ...... might regret that! I admire you daughter for taking on the challenge! (of such a small scale)
