Pretty impressive, both the machine, and the operator.

Instread of backing up and taking that extra time why dont you make a go back trsil so you can drive out fowards threw your strips and load as you come out foward. It would speed up production.

It looks like pre-commercial thinning. But the trees that are left seem pretty tall for pre-commercial thinning. Maybe it's just plain old commercial thinning. Around here, the tallest trees remaining in a pre-commercial thinning operation aren't supposed to be taller than 7 meters. What we do around here is go into an area and thin so that the only trees left are no closer than 2 meters. I've been in a few patches where the spruce are 20 cm apart. If you don't thin them out, they'll probably end up rotting before they're commercially useful.

Commercial thinning. You don't limb or stack or collect the trees cut down in a pre-commercial thinning. Thinnings of this size are sold to the paper pulp industry. :) A first thinning like this might not always be profitable, but it encourages growth and makes subsequent thinnings more profitable, so it's worth it.

They're Thinning the crowded and deformed trees, the more sunlight and minimizing competition makes for quicker growth. Very common in Scandinavian countries, called "Selective Harvesting!" Chipping also for Biomass Boilers, Community CHP, Combined Heat and Power Plants, Rural home Boilers with Chip Hoppers and Stokers etc... Look at your Country Roads in wooded area's, the tree's near the road are always tallest! They tree's left are generally for Lumber products later on, they will be the straightest!

So they use smaller harvest equipment for minimal foot print so they don't do so much damage to the other trees

Hej. Det går att beställa alla våra ATV vagnar till kompakt traktor. Det vi gör är att ta bort aggregatet och ersätta det med ett ventilpaket, som man montera på traktorn.
