Kraton 4s rear diff repair

In this video we do Nate a solid as AJ rebuilds one of Nate's favorite RC's. Having two years of use on it, and at high demand, this 4s car from Arrma has earned a rebuild. Being one tough truck to start with, it's taken a lot to break it, but break it we have over the years. Come along as AJ shows you how to get into the rear end and swap out a differential.

great video! i was not expecting you to simply replace the entire rear diff but to show us how to replace the input gear and diff housing to lower the costs. anyways, i cant wait for the new 4s release from arrma today! really a funny timing for this video :D

I like the idea, but as it stands we don't have a Big Rock. Please keep in mind we have to buy all of these RC's ourselves and don't have a very big budget yet. But...we will try and get one if we can. Thanks for the idea. 😎👍

Input gear would only been $6 for composite or $18 for metal...A whole new diff? Plus did you check / add diff fluid?

Fluid was good, and the cost was not as important as a full replacement, Nate wanted a new one. Problem solved. Thanks for the comment. AJ

Is the assembly on a kraton 4s and a kraton 4s v2 pretty much the same just on a larger scale?

@AJJAMStudios Thanks, I tore mine down and closed up the transfer case with HVAC tape and used the silicone gas line on shocks idea also. Works great,thank you for your videos they really help me alot as a beginner. I do have a question I was hoping you could maybe give me some advise on... what kind of piston should I use for more of a bashing suspension?

Piston and oil settings are variable. Try adjusting the oil first to help. I find the stock pistons can work well with the right fluid for your driving style; whatever that may be. 😎👍

We use lithium grease. We’ve never had a problem using it 😎👍
