Kratos is immortal because after the end of GoW 3 the Gods of Olympus, from beyond the veil of death, have cursed him to never die from old age or by his own hands. They also bound him eternally to the Blades of Chaos (that now follow him everywhere), and every time Kratos wields them, his mind is filled with the pain and anger of ALL those he has killed. It's all described in the official GoW novel (2018) written by Cory Barlog and his father.

Kratos was cursed by Athena to NEVER die just as the blades of chaos will always find their way backto him as he sleeps.

Him killing Aries made him the god of war

It was killed off when he impaled himself with the Blade of Olympus at the end of the game, that's how Kratos managed to survive that "death"

He is not immortal he just ages like fine wine. He still is a demigod which means his lifespan is way higher then a normal human just remind yourself how long Zeus lived

I have 2 possible theories 1: since he killed all the gods in his homeland nature took it's course and appointed him as a God and therefore expanding his life span 2: his curse. What if the people who look at him expanded his life and therefore his( what was supposed to b) his eternal guilt
