In GOW3, the gods are already all messed up by Pandora's box, but when Kratos takes him down he still shows gratitude to Kratos and admits he owes him for saving him in CoO. Let's not forget the entire plot of the prequel God of War comics was the gods creating plagues at various levels to "motivate" their champions in the search for Ambrosia. Ares infects Sparta with a plague that Calliope suffers from as well. Poseidon brings a plague to an entire island. Hades puts Alrik's (the Barbarian king) father into a coma. Other gods like Artemis and Hermes do similar things for their wager. So no, the gods weren't good before Kratos opened the box. They were always insufferable assholes. This would feel and hit diff if I can remember anything about Helios except the fact kratos yanked his head off lol

This makes me want an entire game with this set-up. Not Kratos and Helios specifically, but a game where the main character has an attached companion who fucking *hates* him and the two argue back-and-forth the whole game.

I love that in the comment section everyone becomes a Greek mythology expert and they know nothing about Greek mythology considering that they're speaking about Ovid's fan fiction version and not the actual original Greek mythology 😂

Honestly I get that this expansion is about growth for Kratos but what Helios says about Greece is still painfully true. Kratos has done so much harm towards all of Greece and even though he keeps saying he regrets his choices not once has he done anything to even try to help those he has harmed at least nothing we have seen or been told. Honestly to the people of Greece Kratos says he feels bad and is trying to be better and yet offers no acts to try and show he is actually sorry for what he did. All they have to go by is that he says he feels bad which is akin to someone cutting off both your legs and then forcing you to jump on them to get prosthetics and then say he is sorry he did that.

It's funny to hear how confused Helios is when he experiences the new debuffs 😂

I kinda wish they added a "I'll forgive but never forget" moment with Helios, but that would go against Helios being just a projection of Kratos.. bummer but just as good

I like when Helios says you should of just asked for my help i would of help take down the Greek gods instead of you chopping my head off it hurt me i thought we was friends and kratos says sorry.

Man, i don't think many people considered this, but just the fact that with Helios dead (and the resulting cold and famine due to no Sun) has probably put Kratos's kill count in the hundreds of thousands or even millions!

Thinking about it... Helios kinda had every right to be so pissed at Kratos. Not only did he.... well, "get ahead" so to speak, Kratos also eliminated the SUN. Like Helios said: no warmth, no crops, no life. Famine.
