I actually think it would be much more of an even fight then most people believe. Kratos is a demi-god and Wu Kong is a special monkey created by the essences of the universe. Wu Kong is more “powerful” but so were Zeus and Odin. Wu Kong has immense life essence and exponential near unlimited power BUT was still killed by a Heavenly Deity at the beginning of BMW. Kratos has actually died multiple times, only to come back and kill those who killed him. Kratos has been in many wars over hundreds of years. Wu Kong has also fought in many battles against huge enemies and also needed to leave and come back after training or getting items to defeat them. I do believe Kratos vs Wu Kong would come to a great stalemate but Wu Kong would eventually come out on top, being that he has immortally more than a few times over.

The only thing can kill him is himself, he can actually choose he can be harm or not, it's up to him to allow himself to be damage. So in the beginning of the game, you can see there's no health bar, no mana, no stamina, it's represented his immortality and infinite amount of magic and strength, he cant be killed, even Erlang said in the game "there's no one can killed him except himself". So basically wukong allows himself to be killed since he just wants a freedom life away from his curse crown, and to do that, he needs to die and reincarnated. That's why wukong and Erlang orchestrated the whole war, you can even see both of them are holding back. the whole war is to trigger the crown, remove all wukong's immortality, and then he let himself died as Erlang seperated him into 6 relic and gave it to each final boss in the game and the last relic/wukong's memories is in his third eye, to test the destined one is really wukong's reincarnation or not. But anyway, there's no point of compare the two, i'm sure kratos and wukong would get along, since both of them didnt like gods and killed them if they need to. Just imagine in gow games we got wukong and kratos fight along againts hundreds of gods together, it would be epic. It was a shame though we're not getting thor and kratos fought together in Ragnarok.

If you treat Black Myth as a more of less direct continuation of the novel (despite having some differences), then it would count. But then again they aren't by the same author so that's debatable.

When people think Kratos Vs Wukong we dont necessarily think of gear. Kratos with his Axe/Blades VS Wukong with staff, Wukong wins. But Kratos is literally immortal, he just gets out of hell. Meanwhile Wukong is not truly immortal... he can die.

Listen all I know is we saw Wukong die and narratively from the original Myth he is defeated. Kratos whole plot is anger + struggling from success 😅. We saw the guy literally fight his way out of Hell a couple times. First time being after his supposed death.We also literally know Kratos survived his realm/universe destruction and just continued on 😂💯. Kratos to me has thalis albeit not easily.

I honestly think kratos edges out eventually. We havent seen kratos go full power before and he has killed beings presumably far more powerful than himself and on the other hand the monke is literally made out of the essence of his in-game universe and has access to powerful sorcery on top of multiple martial arts prowess but with both of these guys going all out throwing hands i think kratos would eventually overwhelm wukong unless wukong pulls something clever from his sleeve.

To people who say Wukong definitely wins: In the journey to the west novel, many yaoguais during the journey gave Wukong a lot of trouble. Yaoguais such as yellow wind sage, yellow brow, red boy almost killed Wukong, and they had to get help from gods and buddhas. Wukong isn’t as OP as many people claim, and I can see Kratos put up a very good fight against him.

End of Novel Wukong stomps Kratos by an infinite stack of layers, it isn't even a debate. Additionally, it is worth noting that even Wukong in the beginning of novel (Wreckage of Heaven arc) seems to be a lot stronger than he was during the actual journey. Although it's not explicit, people theorize that Wukong is nerfed after being sealed by Buddha/putting on the circlet, since his feats from that point on are considerably less impressive. It isn't until the very end that he becomes stronger than he was before.

He can use draupnir(a spear) which can be multiplied infinite times and not only that he can manipulate air,create explosion from every spear which cause stun, so infinite copies vs infinite spear would be interesting
