I think the idea is that: the defender will try to obtain the arm more quickly than the attacker’s reaction, the attacker has less knowledge of martial arts than the defender, the defender will use enough force to truly incapacitate the attacker. If all three are true, the defender may have better odds of defending than the attacker reacting

Why isn't the attacker trying to retain the weapon after the initial shot?

Because if he did this whole technique would fall apart

What would happen if your partner's instruction was to withdraw their gun hand as soon as they detected movement, and then shoot to kill?

He would shoot him and prove the best thing to do in a situation like this is to shut your mouth and do what you’re told.

Most people who are trained to use a gun wouldn’t stand that close to the person they’re about to shoot
@honeyfitz37913 жыл бұрын
True, but 99% of the punks on the street with guns are NOT trained. They see this crap in movies all the time and they do stand too close.

Agree, but most of the people that want your wallet are not trained

Some parts you did right but some completely wrong.Aiming to head from back you should do it to the second site so the guy cant move hand to aim at you.Your techniques there work only cause the other guy stands and dont even defend himself thats not how it work on street more realistic would be going to second site in this case right than lock his arm and do as much harm as you can with your knee strikes. I train Krav Maga 4years and thats what my trainer always taught me.In your situation if the guy wouldnt be dumb he could just turn his hand towards you and shoot.If you dont understand what I wrote there messege me and I can record vid for you.

One way you can tell someone has ZERO tactical training: they try to use the attacker’s handgun against them. You don’t know a thing about it - is it loaded? Does it work? (Crime stats show that 60% of the time the answer is no). I would never want to point a weapon at someone I did not know the condition of. And fun fact: in many states, criminals intentionally keep the gun unloaded to receive lesser charges if caught. Folks, don’t be a victim. Be smart and stay alive.

poor technique. With arms at the side, there is a strong likelihood that the baddie will pull a shot off before the good guy can control the weapon. If you don't agree maybe it's because you have "cute, happy, sensitive" baddies in your area

Question: If a pistol can kill you at 10 m just like it can kill you at 0, why the hell would one get that close? Seriously: Name 1 real situation where something like that would ever take place. It was just threatening or an execution, it would make more sense if the assailant would force you on your knees and point the gun from behind - so the victim can't see were the gun is until it is too late.

If someone wants to rob you they are gonna get close to you because they are not expecting to get disarmed
@awfultruth62162 жыл бұрын
@@nemanjalazic1534 Maybe a rookie, not an experienced attacker. I'm not the toughest nor the most competent, experienced guy out there, but I had extensive firearm training. One of the basic rules of close combat implies that the operator (firearm user) must keep distance wherever he possibly can and exploit his weapon's range to deliver maximum deterrence or damage while staying safe. That said: An experienced guy would rob in an environment he can control and force you into submission by holding distance.
@nemanjalazic15342 жыл бұрын
@@awfultruth6216 but most of the people are not trained in firearms training so they don't know how to use gun like policemen or soldiers so they don't know basics
@awfultruth62162 жыл бұрын
@@nemanjalazic1534 I have read several police reports and listened to the victims. As you and I can learn about the robbers techniques, they can learn about our countermeasures. And they do educate themselves on the matter. If you look some videos about real life robberies, you will notice that most the assailants keep distance even when they have full control of the situation an there is no physical obstacle between them and the victim. And it makes sense: If you can neutralize me any time at 5 m, why would you get closer than that and risk my reaction?

Just twist the gun out of that hand as the first thing. Too much fighting a corporation opponent
