Decent technique. Like most techniques, it has its flaws. I definitely have my concerns about the attacker not just letting go with his left hand willy-nilly like the gentleman in this video is doing to be compliant with the technique. An attacker with a gun who is now fighting for the gun is definitely not gonna let go with his left hand around your neck. Again, most techniques don’t work the way they do in a phase 1 training situation. All in all, not bad.

Pay attention, when he makes that side movement to free himself, that movement would make the other guy hand twist inwards which will automatically make him let him go, cos if he keeps holding him he'll be hurting and probably even breaking his arm Secondly people that do that don't really grip you that hard because they know they have guns and everyone is scared of it..... Having a gun gives you confidence so you'll hold your victim just normally and not so tight on his neck, also because you aren't trying to kill him, you're trying to use him as a means/hostage to get what you want from other people.... Finally, holding someone firmly in that position for a while will make their arm weaker and strain which in turn will let them drop their arm from the hostage and let the hostage go.... So they don't really hold people firmly in that position cos you'll like to keep it up long enough for you to get what you want from the people you're robbing

People in this comment section who say "this won't work, bla bla bla" are forgetting that every move against a deadly weapon is inherently risky. But that doesn't change the fact that this technique is the simplest and safest of all, giving you the BEST CHANCE of survival!

I can't agree with the technique either. The first one he shows works better because you don't flag yourself with the barrel. The second technique points the barrel at your lower body.
