Sir, please explain these two questions. Q) A salient pole synchronous motor is running under no load with normal excitation. If the excitation is reduced to zero. (a) it become an induction motor (b) it becomes reluctance motor (c) it remains a synchronous motor (d) the motor would stop Q)A salient pole synchronous motor is connected to infinite bus bar, it is running at no load. Its field current to reduced to zero, then motor will run. (a) at synchronous speed (b) above synchronous speed (c) below synchronous speed (d) at zero speed

First answer is (b) since with no excitation the machine will have only reluctance power hence reluctance motor Second answer is (c) it will run below synchronous speed since there would be no stator and rotor locking because of relative speed between them.

2. D. As field winding is open circuit thus will not get synchronise and thus get stopped.

Sir, why syn motor can't start under loaded conditions? Plz sir, make lecture on it, if we changes the load conditions then what will happen?

Because when supply 3 phase produces rotating magnetic field then rotor can't catch it and will not be able to synchronise.

Due to high inertia of rotor the produced torque with high frequency is unable to catch the stator magnetic field.

When rotor produce high frequency then there is less time period. So the rotor cannot rotate . Hence syn Motor cannot start.
