These are called “trend” games. Just like youtube, if a game is popular, more people will make their own twist to it. Happened with race clicker, raise a floppa, pet simulator x, tower of hell, camping, clicker games, piggy, even obbies and tycoons when they were popular. It’s how it works. Think of amanda the adventurer for the example. When it was released, everyone played and recorded it because they knew it would get them views. It works the exact same way with roblox games. This same formula is very common in the developer industry. It’s not frowned upon to follow this strategy. Some top developers even recommend you do this when you’re in the “beginner” stages to get a feel of how roblox development works and make money off of doing it at the same time.

in my opinion, i think bee swarm is a good example of a simulator game. yes it has gamepasses, but atleast it doesn’t instantly make you win. instead, it makes you grind alot. it has way more mechanics than an average simulator game (there are other simulators that are good).

the most unique simulator which i personally enjoy is bee swarm simulator. it gradually introduces and builds upon mechanics to make an overall fun game. plus, no trading, no skipping the game. the only two big critiques i really see are that it is too revolved around rng and is too grindy. edit: someone else also points out that it takes long to update which is a fair critique. you may be able to counter this with the fact the onett (the dev) works on it himself and says "his code is too messy" to hire anyone else to help. though, when he does update, the updates are always high quality and original edit 2: although onett is adding trading it’s mostly items with minimal effect on the game

I totally agree with you. It’s the exact reason why a game like Doors is so popular. Cause in Doors you have to go through a series of doors trying to escape while hiding from entities and there’s no other game like Doors on Roblox. That’s the reason why it’s popular. It’s unique. If a game is unique and has never been seen before it stands out from the rest. Same thing goes for content creators, if you make a video about a topic that has never been covered before then that video will blow up. Look at MrBeast... he used to make a series of videos about how much money all the popular KZbinrs at the time earned. Everyone wants to know how much PewDiePie earned so why not make a video about it and answer that question. If you think about it in a smart and logical way you just have to stand out from the crowd to get noticed. The reason Fortnite was so popular in 2017 is cause it was the only game with building.

If you want to make a simulator nowadays, you need to be a bit more careful. You need to make a simulator where it isn’t repetitive, and there’s different activities to do. You also need gamepasses for money, but not to make them too OP. It’s hard to find a game which balances out grinding and gamepasses, since quite a few simulators are quite p2w (especially a CERTAIN PET GAME.)
