I will definitely invest in the drawers installation jigs and the drill guide for knobs and pulls.

Awesome series! I watched it from start to finish last night & am re-watching today. Also wondered about the lazy Susan door & would have loved an overview with some tips on painting the old cabinets. Did they just sand those down? I've got some cabinets like the old ones in the video & it's not a very paint friendly surface. But I'm super excited about this series, really believe I can handle our whole kitchen myself! The Kreg tools look like they will really make this job much easier.

Ok I have a K2 master system, complete in the original box, purchased brand new, and has been used a lot. Have been a fan ever since. Fast forward to present, I have more Kreg products than I will ever admit to my wife. That's all I have to say about that. But did anybody notice the before and after pictures. Other than the counter tops and paint, it's the same kitchen. Even the appliances are the same!

Good jigs are quick and easy to setup. Since you chose not to do the setup on camera, I have to assume it was more tedious than you let on. Drilling the holes after the real work of dialing in the configuration is always easy.

How do you keep the drill guides from moving if they are adjustable? Do they have a locking mechanism? I can see the center drill guides being set in its own spot on the jig but if you move them for drawer pulls, what locks them in place?
@TheRecoil20046 жыл бұрын
They have a nut on the back that you tighten.

Wait, how do you measure how far the holes should be for the knobs? I don't get how you know what distance to place the two holes where you drill.

This is a great series. How did you make the corner door for the lazy Suzan?
@KregToolCompany8 жыл бұрын
Gary made the frame on one side of one door 3/4" smaller than the other. That way, when you join the two together, you get the 3/4" back, resulting in the 90-degree corner. The existing doors had 45-degree rips on each door, and then they joined together. Either method works.

So how did you paint everything? Mask and spray, roll, brush?
@ThekiBoran6 жыл бұрын
Jason Hamilton Not exactly important for the purpose of this video but I would definitely paint first. Maybe drill the holes, have them paint then install pulls.

what type of wood is used for the drawer fronts and how do you address the edges? just sand and paint?
@photog15295 жыл бұрын
More than likely poplar since the cabinets will be/have been painted. Probably a slight round over on the egdes would be my guess...just enough to take off the sharp edge.

What do you do if you can't put a center pencil line on a finished cabinet ?
@erickeller67665 жыл бұрын
Place some brown painters tape over the face of the drawer where you plan on drawing a pencil line and drilling.

Me I would put holes on doors, then painted, then add hardware. I like Kreg Tools to make life so easy.

I really doubt those cabinets were painted with the hardware on.. Everything this guy does is legit

What wood did he use for the door fronts? It has not been answered yet in this series.
