I have a family connection to the composer - Fritz Kreisler - of the original song. He used to call at my father's house when he was growing up. My father's mother was a singer, and she met Kreisler at a concert. He used to perform with a little dog by his heels. I've always adored waltzes, so I wish I could have been there to hear this entire concert.

For those hating on people who commented " Shigatsu wa kimi no Uso brought me here or something " That anime greatly promoted and brought youths back to the age of Classical music , showing them how beautiful classical music is . One example is me , ever since the release of that anime i've been listening to Classical piano arrangements of all sorts and i'm addicted to it
@meshyl123129 жыл бұрын
After that anime i probably started to drop anime and play more piano (classical pieces). This anime was really effective and did change my lifestyle a bit. I "hated" classical pieces until i heard love sorrow and my gawd, the amount of hours i spent playing it over and over again. Never knew classical music was so nice so yes thank you shigatsu for showing me a different side of life, a life with beautiful music.

Maki Nishikino Okay, all that is nice and dandy but could they stop reiterating the same annoying crap? I watched the anime and it was nice and all but these are doing it just for the sake of appearing intelligent or some shit because they listen to classical music.(And I bet that most didn't even bother delving deeper than what was shown in the anime.)

+Momonim “Meshyl” m soo true! I just bought myself a piano, and i can relate to the lifestyle change thing. For years I'd been wasting my free time watching random videos or browsing or gaming or just lazing around and lamenting about the work I had to do. This anime drastically changed that and now I spend every second doing something I TRULY want to do, such as rediscovering the passion in music I had lost so long ago and stop trying to fit into a "cool" culture as I realise life is too short to be what others expect you to be. Just be the perfection of what you truly want to be, after all "you are you". :-)

I can see in the comments that loads of people have heard this through your lie I April. And I admit, I love how the anime acknowledges that some of us(including me) hear music and can hear the emotions and intentions behind it. Thats what I live about music. This song for me is the frustration of losing a loved one, the memories and feelings that tumble over another one another. And the slow realization that they will always be with you. Love, anger, sadness, moving on, it's all in this peice!! As a 13 year old, maybe my judgment is clouded.. The way this man plays is very interesting. By the sound of it, he is trying to tell the story, and has a love and dedication with the piano that is unique to him.

I only listen to classical music from time to time. I neither knowable in instruments nor enthusiast that search everything about the piece, but this piece breaks my heart. Like how the song started with sadness yet the end was peaceful. It's like telling something that used to be so fun yet it faded and ended, the emotions is overwhelming! He was happy yet sad, it's sweet but then it became bitter. I can feel the sadness, it pierces into my heart. There was anger or conflict but it subsided bc of love. Acceptance was what I think of the end of the piece. Idk what is the correct interpretation for this but, this is how i interpreted it. I totally love it!

+zeron82411 Anime introduces people to sports, art forms, and even beliefs while opening discussions for some people who may not experience these things if they haven't seen these types of anime. When I was growing up playing the viola, my friends, who loved anime, wondered why I played viola and why classical music was still around. After this anime, I was actually contacted from a few of my old middle school friends asking me to introduce them to other pieces and composers. Some people grow an appreciation not only for the anime, but for the art work as well.

K so please listen to this: I also found this song through shigatsu wa kimi no uso, or the piano one at least. BUT. I don't overflow the comments with "SHIGATSU WA KIMI NO USOOOOO" "ARIGATOU" "HAJIMEMASTE WATASHI WA TOBIAS DESU" because that will break this video imo and I don't want the video or the song to be ascociated with anime... So please, keep it for yourself because it only makes things worse

Take one look at the youtube statistics of this video to understand just how powerful Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso really is. This is for all those fools saying "why shigatsu in the comments?" Let me make this clear. This video got uploaded in 2013 December. BUT until january 2015, it had no more than a 1000 views, the line until October 2014 is FLAT DEAD. But, co-incidentally (?) after Oct, 14, the line kept rising and rising and reached almost 400k views point. Do you know what else is with Oct, 2014? It's the starting month of Shigatsu's original airing. From Oct, 2014 to its end, in March, 2015. Let me make this clear to all you "Why anime otakus here, this is sacred classical region" fools, SHIGATSU MADE THIS VIDEO POPULAR. BEFORE SHIGATSU, THIS VIDEO DIDN'T HAVE MORE THAN ~1000 VIEWS. WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU CLASSICAL MUSIC FANS BACK THEN!? I want to drop so many f bombs over you sons of bi****es but I'm worried of possible youtube censor. I Want every single one of you f*****ks to read this and then die. That's what you deserve. --------- Oh, and if you believe that classical music should be spread forward to everyone out there, and that it doesn't matter how one is getting exposed to it, that it's the ultimate appreciation which matters, you are fine gentlemen and you may ignore whatever you have read so far. I admire people like you. :)

HorseCockin - WorseRockin’s aborted son but for me the anime had introduced me to those wonderful music..and one of my favourite is love's sorrow and capriccioso. And I wouldn't know that these song exist until I watch your lie in april. And of course kouse (the main character) has inspired me to play piano. So please don't look down on us just because we know this song through anime

I’m a piano player who’s been playing for quite a while, and I didn’t hear about Liszt until Your Lie in April. Since then he’s became my favorite pianist, so I think we should just be happy about the fact that the anime brought more people to appreciate his music :)

Ferndo is a ________ I was trying to find a comment about the performance and a "better performance" of this piece to see before considering if I want to spend all the time needed to learn this after rach's prelude in g minor, sadly all I got is "x brought me here, did it reach her" .-.

What a coincidence! Its sad that you people aren't willing to except them. Just because they watched an anime about music and then proceed to actually REALLY ENJOY IT? I'm sorry I believe that classical music was dying before this. I would know, ive been a fan of it my whole life.

Actually you should think on the bright side , classical music is " In " again thanks to the anime . People actually listen to classical now . It was slowly die-ing but it's alive more than ever

True, I just dislike the sea of comments saying "YAY ANIME HURR". Besides I do enjoy classical "pieces" as you described them, I'm just not into the culture enough to know to use correct nomenclature.
