Spokane's KREM 2 ends its broadcast day in 1987. Please note - the odd audio effect heard during a portion of this was in the source transmission.

I believe the movie was being rewound while the sound was still active on the sound board.

I think I figured out what the weird audio effect is. It’s the tape of the movie that was playing being rewound...live on the air.

That weird audio effect is hilarious! I wonder what it sounds like slowed down...

3:17-4:06 the KREM 2 Spokane ID slide dates back to 1980-81, because of the "Korina" font used in the "Looking Good Together" campaign.

@television472tv If you mean how it signs-off today I'm not sure as I do not receive the channel. Perhaps it is posted elsewhere on YT.

@television472tv From what I remember it was a cut signal, i.e. static.
@gladfan19896 жыл бұрын
OTA, signal was cut. Cable, signal was not cut, but a black screen was shown all night long.

I wouldn't say that advertising Planned Parenthood is in good taste, but that's just me.

I bet KREM 2 would never play the Old 100th hymn over the air nowadays.

Not since the NAB, technically, dumped the Television Code in 1983.

Beautiful film. I see this was a religious hymn playing during the film, what was it called?
@05steelersrule085 жыл бұрын
It's called The Doxology or The Common Doxology.

What happened to the sound at about 1:40?
@robatsea20096 жыл бұрын
It's the audio of tape either being reversed or forwarded at high speed during playback - it was happening in the television station control room during the broadcast and accidentally included in the transmission.
@gidzmobug23236 жыл бұрын
robatsea2009 So it is nothing you can edit out.
@robatsea20096 жыл бұрын
No, it originated at the station during transmission in 1987 so it is there permanently. I would either have to mute the audio (and have people asking why there was no audio) or cut out every single portion of the clip that has affected audio, which defeats the purpose of putting it here in the first place.
