Hello Julia. Thank you for the video. I ve had the Kremer earth tone set for 3 years. They are very dear to me. The result is always so delicate and muted. The set misses a blue but it forces me to think outside the box. The pricing was reasonable for the extraordinary quality, but the shipping was 20 euros for France Btw… A big shout out for your channel 😀

They really offer lovely varieties of earth tones - I had eyed the earth tone set, too, but then went with the smaller palette. ;-) I agree their paints feel really special and give lovely muted results. That's a very steep shipping price indeed. Their German shipping is rather pricey, too. I don't know, they probably factor in things like the packaging and recycling fees - since these are so crazy in some EU countries. Thank you for your nice feedback!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this palette. It would be nice to see you using that caput color later. It looked beautiful. Though l, I guess it's hard to find a use when you have such beautiful green landscapes. You did a great job in your sketchbook. ❤❤

I have never met a modest orchid so my eyes were already averted 😂 I read your blog post on the vermilion and I appreciate your research! I rarely use red, but that would be a pigment I would like to try. I am in a quinacridone phase lately. Thank you for the demo!

You're welcome! :) From what I read, the PR106 vermilion pigment is probably not entirely lightfast (can darken when exposed to light/heat), so I would tend towards alternatives like PR255 (Pyrrole scarlet) or even Cadmium pigments. Quinacridones are also lovely, so many great pinks and purples!

Nice painting! I haven't seen Green Earth used much in videos. I bought it in Sennelier, and it is very light. The Kremer looks darker.

Oh, yes, it is definitely lighter and not so heavy!

Thank you! Yeah, this Kremer Green Earth is a weak brown, almost like a raw umber. Very interesting, maybe the green comes through in denser mixes. The color I use for the green bushes and the fields at the end is the chromium oxide green, which is much more intense.

I enjoyed this thank you. I have the no 1 set for a few years and I agree they are different, not as finely milled, but have a lovely character - I can’t quite put my finger on the right word, but they are special and I love their hand made quality. I also appreciate that they get as many paints as they can into their tins, 14 whole pans rather than the usual 12. I was lucky to find a stockist in my country so I didn’t suffer the big shipping costs and added VAT. They have some unusual choices from their open stock too. I really want to explore this brand more.

I hadn't thought about the 14 pans instead of 12, very true. I agree the paints have a very distinct feel, and they're fun to paint with.

Hi Julia...Can I use acrylic in in a fountain pen?
@NatureSketchbook Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t do that with acrylic ink, the ink will dry inside anf clog the pen feed. You’ll need special fountain pen ink, or a fountain pen you’re ready to throw away. :)

David im not sure but all of my acrylic paint pens are not truly acrylic they are like a fast drying oil. I myself use to many to pay posca prices but i am wondering are you or have you tried to figure a way to make your own paint pen i would love to see the results if you do or have!

Ok can i just say thank you and why do i feel like your bringing culture and refinement into my life? I feel like you are serious that someone may be offended about the sexual organs of a flower (giggle) . Please know im not making fun at all not in the least i just think its refreshing that in a world full of Nikki Minaj (who is one of my favorite artists) that theres a Julia halfway around the world from me whom i think might also be a country girl like me who enjoys watercolor and art and nature and gets excited at the prospect of making paint also like me. I feel like as an American woman i get looked down on if not then peoples eyes roll like im not taken seriously but i feel like if we all embraced these things the things that make us the same and also the differences i think maybe the worlds gonna be ok at least here. Your refreshing and i love everything about you and your art. I love the way you narrate also how you explain things and how polite you are when you dont care for something is very refresh g as well!
