Correction- Kress is no longer a German own company. They are part of the Chinese Positec group.

We found them in 2022 at the Equipment Expo in Ky - the system is dope!

Just to be clear, Kress is a part of Chinese Positec Group. They also own Worx, CAT power tools, Rockwell, Wesco and Blue Ridge. So now it's as German as a hamburger. It used to be a pretty innovative German company, but they're defunct since 2018.

@jack12343 Didn't want to say that, so it won't start any drama in the comments. But yes, the competition is fierce in that field ;)

Thanks for clarifying

I will say it differently - before, all KRESS machines were Made in Germany or Made in Switzerland, but not anymore. Previously, KRESS was a very innovative company...eg. the first with detachable el. connecting cables, manual circular saw at the same time as a chainsaw, quick systems for detachable heads, patented potted gears for achieving a low height of drills (500BS), etc... now under their name the Chinese sell the same "soup" that you get elsewhere.

Would really love to see a tear down of 1 or 2 of these to see if they truely are heavy duty. Like, seeing that the motors are serviceable, bearings can be oil'd or changed easily ? Also with such charge times, i would be very curious of the cell chemistry, brand, size ( i hope they are using 21700's not 18650's ). And are they charging to 4.2v per cell when full ? Are the cells staying balanced at such fast charging ? What kind of heat do the packs reach during charging and use ?

if its anything like the quality of the kress spindles they make for CNC machines id say they will be well built and reliable. edit, just seen they ae no longer german made, so they have a lot to live up to.

Is it only the station that is lifepo4 and 3000cycles ? Because lifepo4 absolutely HATES fast charging and i just can't figure out what miracle they've done to fix that. 8 minute Full charge AND balanced pack is really outstanding. But i can't think of smelling snake oil about all those claims.
@barrymclaughlin79410 ай бұрын
traditionally you are correct however they hired a Canadian University to perform investigating how to overcome this fast charging issue with their battery design and the results are a unique battery and low temperature design. I Don't know which University they worked with and they don't publish any papers on their technology but they worked on this design requirement for many years that has high performance battery output and low temperature features that permits rapid recharge ability. No other manufacturer has this capability yet.

Kress offer only 1 year warranty for commercial tools and 2 years for the battery 😢

15 grand for this plus some batteries and a few tools. I think i'll stick to gas.

Or just batteries that charge from the alternator or solar on the trailer. Anything is cheaper than this
