The Chiefs when they had Alex Smith were a really good team. They never had a losing season, they were arguably the best team in the AFC (you can say they were the second best behind the Broncos 2012-2014), they had a good offense but they weren't a DOMINANT team. With Patrick, they are not only a dynamic team but they're also a dominant team. He has the same aura and winning edge that Brady had, you can never ever count him out nor bet against him because he will always make you pay dearly if you do. He might make some mistakes here and there, but in the moments that matter he always rises to the occasion. He had been near flawless in the playoffs and in the Superbowl especially. Super Bowl 57 was the game where although his passing yards were just 182, that doesn't tell the whole story. His defense couldn't stop Jalen, but whenever he was on the field he made sure his team didn't get anything less than 6 points. Even now as his three other peers: Lamar, Joe, and Josh are having phenomenal seasons with Josh being the clear frontrunner for MVP, they are still miles behind him. Patrick has already won the regular season MVP award twice and even won a Super Bowl in one of those seasons, no player has ever accomplished that feat in 24 years. His goal is always a Super Bowl title, individual accolades don't matter to him.

So many factors go into deciding whether a star College QB will translate to the NFL or not. With a solid Head Coach..and a kid that's coachable, amazing things can happen!
@isaacwillis7252 күн бұрын
He is better than TB12 up to this point by far. TB 12 got better, and his ceiling was lower than Mahomes’ ceiling is for sure! TB12 is referencing that he wished he could have done these scramble things that more QB’s can do today. And Mahomes’ is the best scrambler. Better than Lamar you ask? Yes because scrambling is not about getting the 1st down, it’s about keeping the play alive until you can make “the play”. 90% of the time, the play must be to throw to your guy, get your team involved. Nobody should be sitting back to watch or trying to merely block for the QB. Lamar does too much and therefore cannot win. It’s pretty much the same thing with Josh Allen. He ends up doing too much. Mahomes knows that it’s not supposed to be the QB that does everything or too much. He has the vision to get the ball to his guys. Lamar and Josh hear that, but they are not quite able to do that so they gotta carry their teams in hopes of winning, but they have not been able to win. Mahomes is the best scrambler and best QB ever.
@acidwizard652813 сағат бұрын
Yeah, Mahomes is better. I don't think he'll have the longevity that Brady had though. Mahomes' game is highly dependent on his athleticism while Brady's specialty was his knowledge, savvy, and preparation. Mahomes runs one way, throws across his body, scrambles from the pocket etc. while Brady stood in one place and dissected defenses with precision passes. As players and generally everybody ages, their physical aptitudes slowly deteriorate starting in their 30s. You can't run as fast, throw as hard, change direction as quickly, take longer to recover from exercise and injury. That wasn't a problem for Tom Brady because he just stayed in the pocket and picked defenses apart so it didn't matter if his athleticism was fading since he didn't rely on it like Mahomes does. IMO the last ten years of Tom Brady's career from 35 to 45 will be more productive than Mahomes at that age, while conversely the early part of Mahomes career will and has been more productive than Tom's. There's a lot of other factors to consider like how the league has changed since Brady's early days when passing wasn't as prevalent and a 4,000 yard season was an outlier for any QB, and now most QBs have 4,000 yard seasons. Also there's a 17th game in the season now, and extra playoff teams so comparing their stats is like comparing apples to oranges at this point.

The way to answer that is to pick which one you would take as a rookie, knowing what you know now, if you were the GM of a team and drafting a QB. You'd be a fool not to take Mahomes.
@acidwizard652813 сағат бұрын
Pretty obvious. Mahomes was a top 10 pick in the 1st round while Tom Brady was a throwaway pick at the end of the draft. The difference is Mahomes has all the physical gifts and came into the league as an elite QB while Brady shaped himself into an elite QB through hard work and preparation over many years. Mahomes won't be as productive late in his career as Brady was, and Brady wasn't as productive early in his career as Mahomes was.

Can view it how you want but just a question here. Why doesnt andy reid get any credit for any of this at all? Dudes an offensive mastermind an were acting like mahomes woulda done the same thing if he was drafted by the bears. Yeah hes good but he also got dropped into probably the most ideal situation for a young qb. Dude can play but i feel andy reid should get some credit for this.
@Claxutyfps1Күн бұрын
Because a coach can only do so much to a player. The coaches can only tell them what to do but the player has to be able to go and do it which most are not capable of doing which is why mahomes gets the credit because he’s the one playing

100%. Mahomes was a top 10 pick dropped into an offense surrounded by future Hall of Fame players like Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill, coached by future hall of fame offensive guru Andy Reid. If Mahomes were drafted by the Bears he could have been a bust surrounded by a poor offense, and not able to develop the way he did due to poor coaching and scheme. Andy Reid deserves a lot of credit.

Man imagine if he went to the Saints with Sean Payton word is the saints were gonna pick him with that 11th pick Sean Payton even took a private jets to Lubbock and had a private meeting with him and he was on lock to go to the saints but Andy Reid caught wind of it and Jumped right in front of the saints to draft him that’s why he gave up the picks to get him. He would have sat behind drew Bree’s for 2 seasons and then we would have continued a dynasty

and NFC is easier as AFC i would say. Sure there were some Juggernauts but the AFC has Josh, Lamar and Burrow and Mahomes still comes through. Imagine the NFC... we would have walked to the SB maybe 5/5 times if he was there.

From a pure talent perspective, he’s better than Brady. He just needs the hardware now. IMO he only needs 5 or 6 rings to be the GOAT. His mobility alone is better than Brady.
@acidwizard652813 сағат бұрын
Pretty much every QB who has ever played is better than Brady from a talent perspective. Brady came into the league as a throwaway pick at the end of the draft, and through hard work and dedication molded himself into one of the all time greats despite his complete lack of natural athletic talent.

Here is my look at it as a chiefs fan. As a base, no he is not better yet. However I think a very fair and pretty factual point weather people want to believe it or not I think mahomes is the most athletic QB of all time. The way he is able to contorted his body is wild. And on top of making throws no quaterback has ever made he could have gon pro in baseball and basketball. Thats my view on it. But he has a real shot at being the greatest.

@craigcampbell8560Күн бұрын
Brady is clearly more accomplished at this point,but Mahomes is the better player. Mahomes can make every play Brady can make. Brady could never make many of the plays that Mahomes routinely makes. While Brady clearly had a good arm, he never had the arm talent that Mahomes has. Brady was never very mobile either, although his pocket mobility was good. Mahomes can do things with his legs that Brady could never do. Make Brady more athletic and you have Mahomes.
@acidwizard652813 сағат бұрын
