KRIEGA OS BAGS FOR DUAL SPORT MOTORCYCLES | One strap fixes everything.

I recently purchased the Kriega base plate and 18L OS bags for my DRZ400E. The system is an unbelievably good quality product that far exceeded my expectations. The only issue I found was that the bags had a lot of movement. After doing a few test rides I was able to mitigate most of the movement by adding one strategically placed strap. This is not a review video, but more so a DIY improvement.

This was a great tip. I just got a Wolfman and welded luggage on their closeout sale. Found some carabiners sold with Velcro loops and a 360 swivel that I used combined with the hose clamp tips in the same position. Cheers!

Nice work mate. The bag on the exhaust side always naturally sits better due to the shape of the plastic. Also if you didn’t know Kriega have the dirt bike OS rings which are similar to the rings you made up. They Velcro around the frame and work pretty well. I might try out your strap idea to try prevent a bit of movement 👍🏼

Yeah I saw their strap design. But figured I could make something for cheaper. Definitely try the strap on the vic trip. You’ll be a perfect candidate to know if it improves it. Nothing to loose really.

I was debating getting these or the mosko moto 80L, eventually ended up with mosko. The mosko sinches down really well and doesn't need any extra straps but they're fairly expensive compared to kriega. Great vid

Great ideas there for maximixing comfort and reducing slack, just one thing about those grunt straps, I've found they tend to fray quickly if tightened to one particular area over time, causing the teeth on the buckle to catch all the time. Pain in the ass out in the bush so might be a good plan to shop around for some proper abrasion resistant ones. Great video as always 👍

Funny you say that as it is already showing wear and tear. That’s what 5 bucks gets you I guess. Lol Now that I’m happy with it I’ll buy a better quality one for sure. 👍

i run a reusable cable tie on the rear corner of the bag to the subfame under the rear rack. i don't winch it tight i just take the slack out of it. that way the bags don't roll forward into my legs on the big bumps. i have the 12l bags and run them as far back as i can (within reason) so i can put a foot down and get as far back as i can for whoops and drop offs. i use the giant loop strap mounts that have the slot in them i can loosen the top straps and just pull the straps out of the lower loops and remove the whole base and bags in 30 seconds.

I carry a dozen of those little grunt straps. I also see a lot on the side of the highway I’m hoping that’s because they’ve been left on car roofs. Someone’s going to say they are cheap Bunnings shit but I’ve found they work very well

Hey bro I've been catching up on your older videos since becoming a sub and I've noticed you do some hard core riding...may I suggest to keep in your kit a roll of heavy duty black garbage bags...when doing heaps of mud and river crossing you can place garbage bag over saddle bags wrapped with bungee cord keeps them looking good longer if your really picky works well in the dusty environment too...back on to river crossing throw you feet in a bag seal with elastic bands do the crossing remove bundle up in pocket for next one...boom dry boots...and feet

I had a look a few a brands but settled with Kriega based of riding with a few blokes that rated them. That’s pretty much what it came down to.

The Nelson rigg were great. Just getting old and worn out. But they aren’t water proof. I now also have the Kriega 6l bags. They are a top product.

Great idea with the extra strap. My only concern would be the position of the metal cam buckle rubbing and wearing through the seat?

Hey Lance how did you attach the 2 straps on you rear rack. Ive seen them bolted straight to the rear guard. I have the same rack as you.

The rack has two pre drilled holes and welded sections to it. Perfect fit.

Not really. Mainly because I like to ride a lot unloaded as well. Don’t want to have to remove them all the time. Plus I ride pretty hard and have some big offs, I feel they would just bend. That’s my thought process anyway.
