Fantastic review! I agree with everything you said. I have the R25, US10, and US20. I carried my R25 full of stuff for a 2 day trip stuff and have ridden almost 500 miles in one day on Kawasaki ZX6R. I was exhausted from the trip but no fatigue from carrying my backpack. Love the Kriega products. The only thing to add is on the Clip you mentioned on 14:13 of the video, the strap can be looped back into the clip and will be even more protected from flapping. Thanks again for your awesome review.

Watching in 2019 wow 😂😂. Thanks for the great review, very informative. I already have the Kriega Urban messenger WP, the R8 waistpack and two US5 drypacks. Two weeks ago I purchased the R15. 'Cause I was looking for a smaller backpack to work and going in the city for errands. Also have an Aplinestars Charger, but looking for something smaller with a short length on the back. The R15 is very sufficient and with the US5 it holds 20 liters. Kriega packs are topnotch 👍🏼👌🏽. Still riding the Street R? Mines new from 2014 (matte black) and almost 50K kms on it. Love her so much. Ride safe fellow Stripler.

Great Review ! thanks :) wish Kriega was using available waterproof materials :( have you ever get cough on a heavy rain with your personal stuff in it ? how mush water resistant are we talking about ? thanks
@VotoCycling8 жыл бұрын
+MrDeconnepas So, I do wish Kriega would use waterproof materials, but then it might not be as durable and the bag would definitely cost more. As for the water exposure, I've had it in rain and your items will get damped/wet in a downpour. However, Kriega does make a waterproof backpack -- the R30. It has a separate internal, detachable pouch that is fully waterproof. Check it out if keeping your stuff bone dry is your major concern. Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for your generous review. The one question I have regards size. I am definitely buying a Kreiga but am undecided whether to go for a r25 or r20. Clearly the r25 gives an extra 5 litres of capacity so my question is perhaps an aesthetic one: does the r25 look or feel a little bulky when riding a motorbike. BTW I'm a 100Kg 5ft 11 man! Hope to hear from you, Jonathan
@VotoCycling9 жыл бұрын
+Jonny Kustow Hi there! the Kriega R25 does NOT feel bulky on the bike at all and I'm a 5'1" woman! So you'll be just fine getting the R25. One note is that with the Kriega systems, whatever capacity backpack you get from them, they still feel light and secure once they're on your back because of their quad system. Aesthetically, the Tech Aero by A-Stars (23-liter capacity) will look a bit less bulky than the R25. But for a man of your height, I think you'll be ok. This vid shows how the Kriega R25 & A-Stars Tech Aero with gear on if you want compare. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4LFh4enq92Zeas

Hi, do you think it would be possible to strap something big like a tent pack or a sleeping mat to the pack with the expansion straps? I mean the ones with the buckles.
@VotoCycling8 жыл бұрын
+Pulledskin Hello there. It really depends on how much stuff you put in the main compartment of the backpack. If you pack light (which I'm not sure why you would b/c then you can just put the sleeping mat/tent in it), then you can probably strap a small sleeping bag (carefully rolled up of course) or small tent to the backpack. The straps are meant to hold everything tight so that you have a better center of gravity. So if the main compartment is packed to the fullest, then there's no room for the straps to hold anything else. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

@VotoCycling2 жыл бұрын
You know, I've actually used this bag to hike through the city of Chicago for 10 hours. I would imagine the Max 28 would be comfortable for school as long as it has the same strap system as the R35.

@@VotoCycling I’ve bought it I find it uncomfortable weight wise. It just feels like a normal backpack but heavy in the shoulders. I’ve tried the adjustments but still feels the same. The hip straps does work is that the problem, is the hip strap required?

Would it be good for road use and signle track woods and Enduro trails and racing to keep tools, food, and etc?
@VotoCycling8 жыл бұрын
From my experience, this backpack is great for road use since I commute to and from work everyday with this backpack. As for woods and trails, Kriega actually makes their backpacks for such applications. The R25 sits so snug on your body that it should work just fine on Enduro trails. As for the wood tracks, if the track is too narrow maybe you should look at the R20 since it's a smaller/slimmer backpack. But honestly, if you use the compression straps on the R25, you can get it as slim as the R20 (when the R20 is fully packed), so it'll work just fine in wood tracks. Hope this helps.

Do you think this would work well for bicycle commuting? I have an e-bike with an upright riding position.
@VotoCycling5 жыл бұрын
This should work fine with your e-bike. It honestly wears just fine as a regular backpack without any motorcycle gear. The back can get a little warm due to its padded thickness.

Hi mate, awesome review! Can I please ask, is this rucksack okay for a 17" laptop? Would it be safe, secure and waterproof if you get caught in the rain when riding?
@VotoCycling8 жыл бұрын
Hello there! A 17" laptop will not fit in this bag, it's a little small for that. I can't speak for safety, but I'd recommend getting a back protector for your jacket or backpack (this bag has a separate compartment for a back protector) whether you carry a laptop or not. This backpack is NOT waterproof, it's water resistant but it'll leak water in a downpour. For a 100% waterproof option, look at the R30. Lastly, if you don't use the dedicated sleeve for the laptop, you can fit the 17" in the main compartment but it won't be secure at that point. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. :)

Can you please comment on the Kriega US-10 Drypack?
@VotoCycling9 жыл бұрын
+MotoGeek Sure, since I'm not exactly sure what specific info you want on the the US-10 Drypack, I'll just give you an overview about it. It's made of the same high quality material as all of the other products in the Kriega line up. It can fit a small-large size hoodie if folded properly. It's a basically a giant waterproof pouch so there is no compartmentalization with this drypack. It's a fairly medium size bag so it'll pretty much attach to any of the Kriega products as long as they have the nylon loops for the metal hooks. For example, it can attach to the Kriega backpacks or the US-20, US-30 Drypacks. Very versatile system. Hope this helps.
@goldfever45708 жыл бұрын
Hi Hien! Do you prefer the R25 or R35? I would guess the 25 fits you slightly better? I'm in a slightly frustrating position: - I know I want Kriega, I have the US-20 and it's fantastic - I want the clasp system on the R25, it looks less fiddly than the zip on the R35. - But, I want the pockets that are on the front of the R35 - I want the waterproofing that the R30 has - But, the R30 is unbearably ugly compared to the other two bags Can't make a decision! It seems like I'm best off with the R25 and one of the new waterproof liners that Kriega sell along with the kube front pocket. ($$$)
@VotoCycling8 жыл бұрын
+Hawkeye Rides Hi there! I definitely prefer the R25 over the R35. It sounds like you have a really tough decision! I don't if I'm of any help but I think your best option is to get an R25 AND an R30 with a Kube. LOL I know, it's a lot of money. OR! You could just get the R25 with a Kube first and see how you like it before you invest in waterproof materials. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best and thanks for watching. :)
@piavo7 жыл бұрын
Hey, I've been trying to choose between R25 and R30. I like the R25 more, but the thing is that atleast once a month im going to ride 200km. With me atleast sometimes im going to have: 15'' laptop (a bit thicker than macbook) and its charger, ipad, jeans, t-shirt and other clothes for 2 days, maybe DLSR and other stuff if still fits. If it rains i could always put the electronics in a plastic bag, so in theory the R25 not being waterproof isnt a problem. I was just wondering if its possible to begin with fitting all these in R25?
@VotoCycling7 жыл бұрын
So, a couple of things. Kriega does make a waterproof pouch for the R25 so it will make the R25 complete. However, the R25 will NOT fit all of the things you mentioned above for your 200km, 2-day trip. It would be better if you got with the R30 since you can cinch it down to almost 15-20 liter when not fully packed. The R30 is pretty versatile and I like the straps on the R30 because its identical to the R25. It's abyss of a rucksack but it will cinch down pretty small. And, it's already waterproof. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thank you for such in-depth overviews of both the R25 & R35. You've earned Kriega yet another new customer =) One quick question: Will your boots (from the R35 video) fit in the R25? Edit: One more quick question: Will the small chest pockets on the R35 hold an average smartphone?
@VotoCycling7 жыл бұрын
Hello there. The adventure boots will fit in the Kriega R25, except it will be very tight and you won't be able to fit anything else in the bag. As for the small chest pockets, they don't have enough give to fit an average smartphone size of 6-inch screen size or higher. You may get away with 5" screen size or smaller. It would require a bit of work to fit the cell phone in those pockets and the pockets are not waterproof. Hope this helps and you are very welcome. :)
@casualrascal68897 жыл бұрын
It helped perfectly. Thanks. =) I couldn't decide between the R25, R30, or the R35: I preferred the sizes of the 30 and 35, over the 25. I preferred the looks of the 25 and 35, over the 30. I preferred the fastening system of the 25 and 30, over the 35's. And I preferred the waterproofing of the 30, but not it's roll-top opening. Thanks to your help, I'm going to go for an R25: If it can fit my own adventure boots, then it should be perfectly sized for my needs. If I really need waterproofing, I can just chuck the contents into a waterproof liner, then put that in the bag. If I'd like a pocket on the front, I can buy myself a Kriega Kube Pocket. ... really, for me, it's the best compromise on functionality and aesthetics. Thanks for helping me to decide what to buy. Kriega should really pay you some commission. TCARS, - Rascal

Excellent analysis and decision! I've told someone of my fellow riders this before and I'm going to go on record and say it here. The R25 is hands down my favorite motorcycle backpack to date. With the available accessories from Kriega now (waterproof liner, Kube pocket), you can't go wrong.

Do you know if it's possible to fit a 17 inch laptop in this bag?
@VotoCycling8 жыл бұрын
If you're going use the inside pocket (meant for hydration pack originally), it will be too tight for a 17-inch laptop. However, if you just throw the laptop in the main compartment and put soft materials around it, it'll fit. Keep in mind though that the laptop will be sloshing around and it might not be as comfortable to wear (just use the compressions on the backpack to solve this problem). If you need something bigger, I'd recommend you looking to the R35 if you're going to be carrying your laptop around a lot. If it's only occasional, getting the R25 would be just fine if you use the main compartment to hold your laptop. Hope this helps!

@VotoCycling7 жыл бұрын
Hello there! Given your metrics and needs, I would suggest going with the R35. The R35 can fit a full face helmet comfortably with a few smaller items. The R30 has a roll top due to waterproofing, BUT, you can get a waterproof liner for the R35 so it'll solve that problem. :) The link to the waterproof liner for the R35 is below. Is it gona fit with a speed hump on my jacket ?
@VotoCycling9 жыл бұрын
sniper816 Most Kreiga backpacks are meant to sit close to your shoulders (raising the straps 1" above the shoulders), therefore they will sit very snug to where the speed hump on your jacket would be. This will make it difficult to wear the backpack. I notice that most riders who wear jackets with speed humps usually don't wear backpacks...probably for this reason. Hope this helps!
