Very true that Krieghoff has the best service, needed an emergency service at the Fitasc Sporting in Italy, emailed Phil Krieghoff and he responded less than 10 minutes later and was happy to assist. Krieghoff are the absolute kings at customer satisfaction.

They ought to be for the price the only thing i disliked in my ownership of one for several years was the recommended yearly service. Which i think is abit crap i didn't do it one year and the gun went wrong also has happened to several other friends and shooting buddies who skipped it for a year or two so the whole built like a tank is not true for me, as if it doesn't get serviced very regularly it goes wrong which hasn't happened with any other gun I've owned.

Well in the late 70's I was using a Remington 3200 trap gun so when you are on about other makers copying some of the K80's features maybe a quick check on this Remi model would be well advised.......

@@lloydyp Yes I dare say you are but German shotgun makers of note are not plentiful. Merkel did do some lovely lock actions on their shotguns but, like most of the German gun makers, they are more renown for their hunting rifles. If Krieghoff have risen to the premier league using an American shotgun as their foundation for success then all the best to them and long may it continue. Rolls-Royce when in British ownership had to give a credit to Andre Citroen in all their service bulletins as they used his system on the Shadow / Spirit range but I digress. I could not get on with the 3200 and, after a brief encounter with one Jackie Stewart at Sealand, switched to a SO Berretta. Still didn't hit much, unlike Bob Braithwaite with his C3 Browning, but loved the gun ! :-)

@Lloyd: something that might be most interesting is a comparison review between your new-ish Perazzi and a K80. Not what’s “best” but what one might expect from a characteristic perspective and what one would find/discover moving from one to the other?

@@lloydyp I'd like to see a comparison between kreighoff, Blaser, Perazzi and Beretta Dt11. Especially interested in which recoils least and why is that so. Possibly upgrading to something in the Dt11 price range. Too difficult to get a semi auto here. Tempted to have my browning gp ported and forcing cones done too, but part of me thinks maybe that money is best saved for an upgrade.

As others have said the video is let down very badly by the editing - absolutely pointless to talk about the many differences, major and minor, differences between guns by pointing at a gun off camera. It's a great shame as Alan was in great form as an ambassador of the guns which would have been far more valuable to non-owners with the guns in shot whereas the way it was edited wouldn't inspire anyone to buy a Krieghoff. Obviously space was an issue but surely you could have taken down those on the wall behind you and replaced them with Krieghoffs that could be referred to? As it stands the video, in my opinion at least, is deeply flawed by the absence of the guns - my suggestion would be to withdraw it and re-edit with pictures of the guns being referred to inserted as "PIP" photographs as otherwise many will not have a clue about floating ribs / barrels or the nuances of stock design and potential new owners will simply scroll on by non the wiser.
