While Yogg-Saron is more of a Hail Mary you can play from far behind to maybe save the game for you, the Servant actually seems like a win-more card. It only casts one spell, and you need a board that can absorb a bad effect, while winning the game easily off a good effect. Of course, that's still bad, because win-more cards that CAN lose you the game are bad.

There are 203 spells in the game that cost 5 or less. So a chance for beneath the grounds is 1/203. The chance to immediately draw an ambush is 3/25 (I assumed there were 25 cards in the deck). Multiply those 2 numbers and the chance was actually 0.0005 which is 1/2000 SeemsGood

I took this card out of my deck when I was behind and played it. My opponent had 2 minions on the field, one of them a 7/7 monster. I was behind so my only card I had available to play was this one. The spell was Shadow Word: Death; "Destory a minion with an attack of 5 or more" It proceeded to destroy itself instantly. Needless to say I lost.

The problem is, you can't play the card when the board is in your favour and so you can only use it when you're desperately behind. You have to put trust in a back up plan card that's based on complete RNG and so the results are underwhelming as you often need specific answers on specific targets when you are behind. I think if you play this card you need the right deck type. You need to have a back up plan when this card screws up instead of using it as one and in all other situations it will simply give you massive tempo.

The issue with Servant is that firstly, it's the opposite of a win-more card, that is, it can sabotage a winning board. Consequently, it should only be used to attempt to regain the board. Secondly, when you are attempting to stabilize, the stakes are too high to fail - if the opponent has lethal or close and you play Servant to try to reverse that, it might fail. If it fails, you lose. Why is big daddy Yog NOT bad? Because you can reasonably assume that you will get both removal AND some other kind of advantage like card draw. When big Yog kills itself, it very often makes up for that by killing their stuff too, but Servant will only ever waste a turn in that situation. Both cards aim for big tempo swings, but those tend to win Constructed games only either very early or very late, another point that makes big Yog a playable card while this is trash.

Whenever you play a mad bomber, you calculate the chances of positive outcome. Why don't you do the same with this card? I know it's harder when there are so many spells, but ultimately it's the only way you can tell if the card is good or bad. I don't think you're supposed to win the game if you do not estimate your chances beforehand.

One way I can think of doing that, is calculating it beforehand for all possible and\or commonest boardstates and then checking this list when you can play it.
