Poker is gambling, but not AGAINST THE HOUSE. It also has a higher skill cap than most gambling, so if you're good at it you can semi-reliably make money. Gambling AGAINST THE HOUSE (slot machines, roulette, blackjack, etc) is always rigged against you. Any way you might come up with to tip the scales in your favor (such as counting cards) is considered "cheating."

actually you're right, but the house takes some money from all the players, so it's not really fair statistically (obviously if you just play with your friends and not in a poker house or a casino you're right, since there's no house to gain anything)

I've been a casino dealer for a couple years and I have saw really wicked stuff, it's nothing for them to pay 30k an hour somebody to have new players, just one person getting heavily addicted to the games will eventually give them back that money in some time, and having 20k possible new players is just easy money for them, they just have to wait
