This guy is kinda interesting because the normal argument of "Can get BGH'd" doesn't hold as much weight compared to other 7+ attack creatures. The whole reason why BGH is so good is that he causes a massive tempo swing. "Oh that guy just spent 9 Mana on that Thermaplugg? Lol lemme just pay 3 Mana to make it seem like it never existed". In this case, there is a massive 6 Mana loss for the opponent. With Lumberer however, that swing may not nearly be as big, usually only causing a 4, 3 or even 2 differential. So while ya, BGH killed something, congrats, it killed what was basically the same worth to your opponent as a Piloted Shredder. Plus, a BGH to your Lumberer means your Boom or other big guys get off scott free.

deenman23 The only reason a deck like Handlock works is that the Giant's mana costs can vary greatly. They aren't REALLY 12/20 Mana. If you had a deck with more than 8, 7 Mana or above minions, things start to break down.

Cole Klostermann You're missing the fact that the enemy minions die twice, so you'd only need the opponent to have 5 minions to make the lumberer free. Poison seeds kills 5 and then you kill the 5 treants that pop out with starfall. It could be a little cheaper depending on whether or not you had minions that also got eaten by poison seeds.

Ahem when it makes the 2/2s it "destroys" your minions and replaces them with 2/2s so ergo it's actually it's a pretty good combo plus there minions are killed x2 killing them, replacing them with 2/2s then killing all the 2/2s.

Cole Klostermann No, when you use poison seeds you actually kill creatures, and when you use starfall you kill more creatures. If the enemy has 4 creatures and you do this, you actually kill 8 minions, and I'm not even counting deathrattle creatures.

Mikhail Rothenberg To be fair, most cards can do well in Arena. This card just doesn't seem all that great 9 times out of ten in constructed. You need to be up against zoo or hunter or get a lucky swipe against a paladin. And even then if you have the mana to swipe and then throw down that 3 mana or whatever card, you could have put in a more all around viable card instead. And Trump has been wrong before, but he is a very knowledgeable HS player. "Krip" using it in its ideal state in Arena twice for this video doesn't prove Trumps assessment wrong. It could be good if and when the meta changes. But at the moment you would likely need to build a deck around it and hope you go against certain matchups, and hope you get the combo just to put out a cheap BGH target.

You are supposed to use Poison Seeds with it, because Poison seeds KILLS all minions and replaces them with Treants. So if you opponent has a full board, poison seeds, then Volcanic lumberer. If you have an Innervate, play a Starfall also.

It seems like a good card. But it doesn't seem very efficient, since it requires a specific condition to be met. If you play against priest, warrior or other control deck that plays fewer minions then you'll have a hard time summoning it for less than its original cost. When you do it gets instantly slaughter by bgh or another crap. Even though most people are running aggro so it might not be a big issue. And it might actually make face hunter go extinct and that's good :)

At 10:20 you just needed to throw the slime in the 2-1 and the scarlet in an imp, this way you have 4 deaths and you can play the tree for 5 mana. No RNG involved.

Volcanic Lumberer is also a great target for Recombobulator. Tranform it after it kills something, then the value shoots through the roof.......unless if you get Majordomo...then you cry...
