It's the only thing other than insane Frogger high-rolls that consistently beats Mecherel builds. Completely cancels out the ability to keep bouncing Shields that makes it viable.

I think this game speaks volumes about what changed with the refresh patch - they buffed midrange (midrange being tier 4 and under), as well as making midrange cards that are viable for a couple tribes that are capable of being powerhouses in a lategame build. Dragons: Tarec + Proto Demons and Menagerie (and anything really): Doomsayer Beasts: Leapfrogger + the already existing Macaw Mech: Greasebot Elemental: arguably Lightshower Elemental (being able to get a knock-off Nomi on tier 4 is nice, but it really needs non-elemental tokens to get some oomph out of it) Pirates, Quillboars and Murlocs didn't get big buffs in the midrange department (some buffs, but nothing huge); all 3 are likely capable of winning but murlocs are going to require getting to tier 5 and nabbing a SISefin and probably a Brann, Pirates are going to require tier 5 and getting Hogger/s, and Quillboars needs you to get lucky enough to get a good set of the midrange ones while levelling to 5 so you can get the juicy tier 6 ones. It's not necessarily a bad change, but for people who used to play for first place by targetting the tier 5/6 cards that were key for builds, it does require adjustment. And on that note, a couple of the cards mentioned do need to be tweaked and nerfed (namely Doomsayer and Leapfrogger).

@@alihorda Pre-patch, going hard midrange would often net you a top 4 finish, but rarely an outright win. Now a lot of builds have core cards between 2 and 4, so you can go hard midrange *and* get the outright win. Good for players that liked going hard midrange before as they now have more chance to win; bad for players that liked taking the risk of losing games early to nab a winning build.

In that case Kripp made the correct decision as he had enough gold to buy two other (premium) dragons when the buffer dragon turned up, therefore he saved 1 gold and not freezing was the correct decision

I think the guy at the end could have had a chance if they put the amalgodons in the right order, they wasted an attack bc the leftmost one had plant deathrattle. They would have been able to have an actual attack with a poison divine shield minion, meaning the anti shield snipe dragon wouldn't have countered it

Yeah since the BG update, Ysera is just busted with fast tier 3/4 upgrade. I always ended up first/second, after picking her. Lucky demon builds are the only "problem"

@@davey246642 Kripp became obsessed with battlegrounds at launch and lost touch with arena. To play at an "infinite" level in arena, you must know basically every card and have a sense of what someone will have at specific win loss spreads, like if someone is 6/2 they probably have such and such cards. Kripp was a master at arena because of his knowledge, but he now lacks the knowledge an doesn't want to invest the time to regain it

The fact that it doesn't get stats is why it's not busted. Also, you'd have to get kalecgos... at the same time, highrolling to not just die because you were playing with -1 spot on your board. So you'd have to reach high tavern, while fishing for 3 of those minions + fishing for Kalecgos. Pretty easy to see how much of a highroll you have to do to get to these conditions. Unless of course, you're not thinking and just want to rant.

You could even just literally grab ONE of these the moment you get a kalecgos and you're still DOUBLING the number of stats you get from Kalecgos.

Kripparian is kinda bad at battlegrounds, watching him and dog is like night and day. Proto drake over the massive +1/+5 buff on every dragon. Watching him lose battle cries for his proto drakes is just so mind numbing, especially when the minion he's buffing can get oneshot by the poison(and it does every single time it dies in the last few rounds), so it makes it worthless.

Kripp has been playing hearthstone for so many years, he doesn't care too much for the most optimal plays anymore. He trys to highroll as much as possible for fun. Although he does make some stupid plays, I think it's more to find what can work rather than what does. Dogg is numbing to watch because of his play style, clicking random minions every single roll and constantly asking chat for direction. Not to mention is dull music choice and awful attitude towards fallowers as of late. Neither Dogg nor Kripp are perfect players or streamers, but we can't really expect them to be when playing an rng simulator as a full time job
