Mass ghouls is actually really good in the right conditions. It falls off hard in the late game but early game it can be really good when paired with dispel like dryad/shaman to stop early lightning shield counter. After that only counter is aoe magic like DH lich panda. Its even better with dread lord or tc for obvious reasons. Massing ghouls is cheap and can easily net you an early tower if your opponent doesnt get a good counter early.

maybe you should do an efficiency analysis of the ghouls? What is its Effective HP / Gold compared to other tanks? Also in Mass Ghouls also have a higher chance of being overkilled.

Just an improvement you can do easily: I saw it in several of your vids: Pick Skill after you see the enemy wave. Only for Drow you have to decide upfront as it is bugged currently (arrow). This make sense for situations like this at level 1 and especially good for AM, Beastmaster (which dmg type makes sense), FL etc.

I've been testing out a 2nd gold mine before hero build in 2k MMR. Works pretty well. Should preferably have shaman and cheap frontline. You delay your hero and rely on unit advantage until you can get your hero out on the 3rd or 4th wave.

Nexus wars is better and faster than desert wars. Both are better than castle wars. Nexus wars you just need to assign roles at start, 1 goes Protoss, start with 2x gate then maybe 3x gate 1x or 2x immortal but main goal is to get air superiority because tempest will carry. protoss imo are best in both modes -> cheap & hidden detection. easy upgrades to make zealots/immortals strong enough.

Collision size of units is much reduced in direct strike. The ghouls would basically all still attack at once without any meaningful body blocking

mass ghouls is actually quite powerful, you need to have raiders for it really to work proper... people say in theory it's bad lategame, but actually mass ghoul is extremely powerful because it can steamroll caster/ranged armies... your 12 tauren are not going to be enough against 60 ghouls i guarantee it, especially since pulverize cannot be upgraded

You have to spend to money to make money. Not only does the last mine take a long time to pay for itself(the game could very well end before it even pays off), but that money could have gone towards units, items, tech up, upgrades. etc to keep your team on their side of the map for center control income. You could end up losing your team 20 income (10 gold each while you go neutral until it pays off) and giving the enemy team +30 income because you went 4th mine.

Yes. The main tradeoff is you lose control of mid, which gives one mine's worth of income to everyone on the team that controls mid. So you making mines cedes control of mid in an otherwise equal game. And once your opponents are stronger, they TOO can get a mine and will maintain mid. So you getting early mines can just screw over your team because your opponent beats you, leaks to the next wave and disrupts them, and causes them to lose.

Grubby, you need to play Dota as a core player to understand how many bad decisions you've made with spells and items. Almost every time you lose, it's because of this. For example, Ts needed his Q ability; why sell Flame Guard? Sell a ring and buy evasion. Dark Pact for DK? No Orb until almost the end? And much more. Your decision-making with heroes is consistently weak.
