@@tramdr I ran up on a stockpile of 22JU6 and 22JG6 NOS that came from a TV repair shop. I have some to use and some to turn loose of. The boxes look a little rough but the tubes all look and test good. If you know of someone who needs some send em my way.

Interesting to see a near mint Boomer. They punched the chassis out for an extra tube but the layout is reversed from the Big Boomer. Also, no cooling fan. For those not familiar, the Big Boomer has three 6LQ6s driven by one 6KD6. It runs 600 plate volts to develop 190 watts input on AM and 400 watts input on SSB. It also features a receiver preamp, and a panel meter that reads output power, plate volts, and SWR.

What's up Doc? I got my MK IV'S yesterday. Not the A's but seeing as how Barketts refreshed them from the 776 mic to all new tubes in the transmitter and the receiver and realignment include caps, really nice set. Dead keys 5 swings 25 pushes my Eagle 500 over 1k peak. Now the radio man says my RG8UX isn't good enough for my 120' run because of loss? Why can't I win? No such thing as plug and play?? Tech says I need at least RG213? But CB does stand for constant buying. What say you Magic Man?

Well, if you want better performance..... get rid of the 8x and get something with lower loss. Beldin 9913 and LMR 400 are very popular. What antenna you running?
