Hell no it don't have any bleeder resistors. About 40 years ago I slid the cover off mine to paint it. The capacitor bank was just underneath the amp close to one side. I had my hands on each side with my fingers wrapped underneath. KA POW! I bled them with my finger burning a hole in it. OUCH!

Ya,I agree with you, but most people are never really going to learn how to pack stuff properly 😢. It's very frustrating, I stopped buying stuff from ebay mainly for that reason. Have a Happy New Year..

Hello doc. How ya been? I see ya boys doing well this year. Ya put any money on them cotton pickers? Lol You said something that I didn't give any thought to. Idk if you remember, I have a 201A. The problem I was having with it was I had to keep changing the 40 40 40 cap. What it was I never thought about it may have been made to run on 110v. Like you said the volts these days is 120v. I swapped out the transformer and didn't have anymore trouble. The old transformer I had it tested. They said it was working fine. Got long winded again. B4 I go how's 23. Haven't him talking to you lately. I used to hear skip coming back to him. Where I live I can't hear him. Happy Holidays.

My question is not related to this video but what are the benefits for mono banding a D&A 10 tube amp?
@tramdr6 күн бұрын
slightly more efficient, which would also mean slightly more power out and more dependable as the problematic band switch would be bypassed.
@spaceflight10196 күн бұрын
Elimination of switches in the RF and high voltage paths is always a good thing.
@josediaz-tq5cz6 күн бұрын
@@tramdr Thanks for the response. One last question, is the mod as simple as leaving four turns of the existing coil, removing the band switch and reconnecting the remaining coill to the other variable cap?
@josediaz-tq5cz6 күн бұрын
Is there any chance we could talk so you can talk me through this mod?

I found a pdf pamphlet about Collins Mechanical Filters and there was alot of information about how the filters are made. They can have very sharp dropoff 😮 Search for Collins Mechanical Filters (1962). Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎅🤶.
@tramdr6 күн бұрын
Thanks, but been there done that. Actually, back in the day, I read everything I could find on them. Yep, they are sharp, closer to an ideal shape than anything else at the time. At one time, one of my goals was to have 1 of every CB radio made that had them. Tram Titans, Tram Corsair, early Browning Mark II's and some late Mark I's if I remember right, Courier Royale, Regency GT and a few more I can't think of. It was said that the very early GE Superbase had them, but I have never seen one in person or the net that had one. Also, when Collins went out of business, Rockwell bought Collins out and made and sold the filters to the military for a very high price. Once the price skyrocketed, CB makers couldn't afford to put them in and that was the end of the Collins in CB's.
