I listen to this on my birthday, and the words resonate in so many ways. I thank the creator for artists such as he, I am Gaelic, and it strikes a very deep chord, but any man should hear the beauty of this artistry.

One of my very favorite songs, from a very favorite album! :-)
What a wonderful rendition from a wonderful album. When the future discarded debris of human culture is sifted thru; by wispy, spiritual hands and colossal minds, they will pull out this song and album and will say (think) they were truly a wonderful phenomenon and worthy addition to everything that is past and will be.

So beautifully done. It even improves with repeated listening. I'm just working my way through the 'Folk On Foot Front Room Festival', which features a superb line-up, yourself included, of course. I hadn't noticed the Folk On Foot channel until tonight. It looks like a well concieved concept. I hope they get some Welsh artists on it at some point. We always seem to be forgotten in the British folk world. But that's not really a point to be made here, sorry! I'll continue to enjoy this, and I hope another Drever classic, If Wishes Were Horses, also gets the lock-down treatment soon. Really love the Douglas's House Session version with Ian Carr, by the way. Difficult to top that! But no - that's the beauty of a great composition, it can sound just as good, treated really differently. All the best.

Orcadians are often said to have Welsh sounding accents. Maybe we can be included in your representation...sorry. Thanks for your kind words. I'll definitely bear that suggestion in mind. I'm a big fan of Julie Murphy, do you know her singing? excellent Welsh artist. K

@@KrisDreverGuitar She's very talented, indeed, her style fuses Welsh and Breton tradition. For reference, I'm guessing that the following would be ideas for folk walks; North West Wales - Twm Morys (vast knowledge, great speaker and a musician/poet himself, aka Bob Delyn, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twm_Morys ) Mid Wales - Siân James (lovely, talented songwriter & harpist) Aberystwyth - Georgia Ruth (young, gentle soul) Pembrokeshire - Cerys Matthews (very knowledgable, once of Catatonia fame) Cardiff (?, she gets about!) - Catrin Finch (BBC2 best duo award 2019 with Seckou Keita) Cardiff again - Gareth Bonello (aka The Gentle Good, soft-spoken, knowledgable)(I taught him ... alas, not music!) you'll enjoy this I'm sure ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2bUdKqge7CYbKM Abergavenny - Dylan Fowler (multi-genre guitarist of various projects, including Alaw, Taith and, yes, a Julie Murphy album or two, or more) South Wales Valleys - Bethan Rhiannon (enthusiasm and talent from the group Calan) I could go on! There's a Welsh music lecturer (very nice bloke, too) in Bangor University, Stephen Rees, who used to play fiddle in Ar Log ('the Welsh Chieftains') - apart from being a good companion himself, he'd surely know of musicians who know their localle well, musically. I wrote to him on this address, recently, and got a response promptly s.p.rees@bangor.ac.uk
