Hi Kris, from Oz. Met you years ago in Canberra playing with Melb Scottish Fiddle ensemble. Love your work here, especially the wee instrumental at the start. Hope to see you on tour again.

Excellent little show Kris, that was a cracking trio of songs, I think sometimes your dazzling guitar skills hide the depth of your lyrics which are poetry In themselves. And that little Waterloo sings in your hands! Hope to see more soon, all the best to you and the family from sunny Bristol!

I'm intrigued by your use of two capos in this video (and others) including a cut capo. In this video it's not too easy to see precisely which strings are being capo'd at what fret. What capos do you use on what strings/frets and why in those particular positions for playing these and other tunes? Were the guitar strings in standard tuning prior to capoing?
@KrisDreverGuitar4 жыл бұрын
The guitar is nearly always in standard tuning for the two capo trick. The cut capo is usually on the second fret on the ADG strings. If you want to play a semi tone higher then put a full capo on fret 1 and the esus capo on 3 etc There are a couple of other ways but that's the one I use most often.

@@KrisDreverGuitar - Many thanks for the tips Kris - I'm trying this out and it makes a truly wonderful set of tones! I've used alternative tunings many times before but never through the use of two capos. It will now be a lot easier to change tunings when I'm able to play down at the pub with my friends again - whenever that is...
