I used to skate with him back in the early 2000's, I actually sold him a couple of those guitars. He's an amazing skater, and the nicest guy. I hope for nothing but the best for him in whatever he does in life.

I was 13 when I met this guy. He was the first professional skateboarder I ever met. It was fun skating with him. He's an awesome dude.

I used to see Kris do demos at a park in Peoria Illinois in the early 90's. That guy skates so fast and I always got stoked to skate after watching him skate. The guy kills it everytime, super stylin! Very inspirational back then!

I saw him at a few demos in Rockford at Rotation Station. Dude is a legend. Nobody skated faster or went as big as he did.

He’s soo humble and cool and just a talented person. Art wise, and skateboarding.

Kris Markovich has EARNED a respectable nod in sk8 history. Most pro's are forgotten over time... whatever politics aside, his SKILL is what/ will/should be remembered from his era. Respect! What the fuck have you haters done in skateboarding?...

fast as and cool as, love the art. what a lord. grommies will never know how rad the 80's and 90's were. Let them hate cause we were the lucky ones.

He's had more success in each year of the 90's than I've had the entire time since.

I live in GA and actually met this guy at one of our local skateparks. I was wondering what brought him to Georgia. It was surreal meeting him because this was this pro skater that I was exposed to and thought was gnarly at 12. I didnt meet him in person until I was like 23-24. I was a semi adult meeting an adult...just a normal guy. I wish I had spoken more to him but I didnt want to bother him really. I agree with him totally regarding California. Cali is way over-rated as a place to be.

it so true, in the south is way better to skate than california, i use to live in NC now i live in CA and in NC you have so many safe spots, and theres all ways a time in the week to skate and somewhere to skate and something to skate, here in cali so many spots you get kicked out

Been to Atlanta and the south, live in socal. The south is fucking horrendous.
@InjuryDrums3410 жыл бұрын
The oft spoken words of an overly defensive californian who has a predetermined opinion of the south before the first experience. Driving though does not count as "been to the south." the same way driving through california does not count as "been to california." You experienced the traffic. Not the skate spots, not the people, not the food, not the weather. If you only drove through PB in San Diego you'd think it was just a fucking filthy tourist trap (which it is) but you would not have any real idea of what its like to live there (in a fucking filthy tourist trap) So don't reflect whatever reason you hate kris onto the south.

It's sad Given didn't work out. I mean it was 100% core company. Kris did the artwork himself which I really liked. Even Nate Jones joined the team. It would have been great. Just he and his wife working for it. Skating and doing all the work by himself. Bummed that skate community didn't evaluate and appreciate it enough to support the company so that they could provide themselves and maintain their existence in long term. Fuck, skate community doesn't support skater owned and run companies enough at all. But I guess the divorce had to do with it as well.

I had a feeling his life was a mess after this video. Why would we support a washed up skateboarder like Kris when there's pros killing it harder than he ever did.
@crazycarlsadventures59834 жыл бұрын
People kinda stopped paying attention after Hollywood and crimson .. it was just like every few years he would start a new brand ... most kids don’t wanna invest in supporting a company when it could be gone Tommorrow .... kris is the the man though ...I remember 88 footwear

damn seeing this dude last on art bars and seeing him now it's pretty sad. i always wondered what happened to this dude. this video is pretty depressing and sad on how things went for this dude from an outside perspective, but he seems happy doing his own thing so i guess that's all that matters. his art is pretty sick and his skating; still rips.
