there is 0% value from someone, that just is toxic, and calls you "bad." Most of the time, those people are either on a loss streak, have to much ego or are just general assholes. Just mute them.
@DrawAndErase6 ай бұрын
That's interesting, maybe I need to reconsider muting people. I almost never mute because I say what if they give me a comm I need or we need to communicate so even if they're toxic I keep them on, and I suppose I'm not perfect so when someone is being really toxic then I call them out and they get destroyed by me which probably makes them play even worse and probably doesn't help me either, anyway I should try muting instead.

@TechSupportDave6 ай бұрын
Haha I do get called a thrower sometimes. Especially after returning from longer breaks, my MMR will stay pretty good but my skill will decline drastically (by default I'm top 40% at best in every FPS except valorant, but when I grind I'm top 1% skill-wise, and top 3% rank-wise, somehow), and from all the weird things I end up doing, the former immortal teammates in my games will genuinely think I'm throwing. Doesn't help that I one-trick Phoenix... lol. Obviously, it's not my intention to throw, but it's interesting how much my gameplay takes a hit if I don't play. I make some really stupid mistakes which 99% of players would interpret as throwing. Obviously, the real culprit for this is the game not having any real MMR decay. Instead, the game assumes that I'll play fine in my first few dozen games. And the system doesn't even use historical data to determine that I should probably be placed in easier lobbies if I haven't played in a few months... The fact there's this overlap between actually good immortals, and me, a peasant who has to grind away every day to stay 'good enough' for my elo is something that I think might be pretty unique.

Muting teammates immediately or on pistol is such BS. Unless they're running their mouth during game-phase, leave them unmuted. You're selling the game otherwise.
@Obese-potato6 ай бұрын
Most of the time they won't provide anything constrictive
@TechSupportDave6 ай бұрын
@@Obese-potato But you don't know that. It's a very closed mindset to assume that the team won't focus up. You literally cannot know that. An objectively better alternative is to implement something like the following strategy: 1. Team mute if any arguing has started. 2. Team unmute after 6 rounds (or on halfpoint). 3. Immediate team mute if arguments are still persisting. 4. Repeat step 2 & 3 three (3) times in total before keeping the team perma-muted. Obviously, tailor the system to how patient you are. But, it's important to prioritise the WIN, over your own emotions. This is something that Woohojin miserably fails at. It doesn't matter if your teammates consist of a bunch of sexist douchebag weirdos or whatever. If they start comming, requesting utility, playing nice, etc, then that's what should matter for someone whose goal is to WIN their Competitive games. AND IT'S NOT LIKE YOU HAVE TO COMM IF YOU THINK YOU TALKING WOULD SPARK MORE ARGUMENTS. The point is to just have comms in your ear, at the very least. And from my experience, players will sometimes stop arguing and move on after roughly 12 rounds, possibly less. This is something that I'm experiencing more and more now that I'm a good enough player to make my own decisions, and smart enough to understand when some random coach is very clearly making sub-optimal choices, but everybody who watches him, for very-obvious-to-me-reasons-which-I'm-not-going-to-say, does not call him out on it. But, the point is that you won't know what your teammates may end up doing unless you actually un-mute them a few times here or there. They are human just like you, so in many cases they will not want to keep arguing throughout the entire game. Willful ignorance that could cost you RR, just sounds like stubbornness and ego to me. And personally, I care about the win enough to throw those things aside at any moment when they start conflicting with my valorant improvement. Although I guess not everybody would be capable of that... well, I like to believe that if they are smart enough, that it's their conscious choice to make things more difficult for themselves. Hooj is probably smart enough to be aware that this is not a statistically optimal behaviour on his part. But if so, why isn't he doing anything about it? Does he not want to hit Radiant as quickly as possible? I don't have any strong motivations to grind Valorant Competitive but even I am trying to optimise my gameplay where I can. I think this is a good question though. Hooj's improvement is extremely slow, even slower than mine, and I spend 10x less time on this game than him. And my experience / mental specs are also significantly lower than his. He should be able to VOD review himself ONCE, and leap right past me in terms of rate-of-improvement. Very strange.

I treat any challenge in valorant this way and remind myself, "ive been here before and I can do it again" "I've proven it can be done and this just another challenge in my life that I can overcome" There can be elements of mental fatigue that could be sitting in as well, and its important for you to recharge your battery and refill your cup with things that make you happy. Why can't you just mute them as soon as you realize they're toxic. I genially think it increases your chances of winning significantly. You don't get emotional and stay focused on the game, moreover it's extremely likely that you not being able to hear this guy's comms is not a big deal. Yeah, of course you can lose a round because you couldn't hear an important comm but I BET YOU WOULD'VE LOST EVEN MORE IF YOU HADN'T MUTED HIM. the lower rank is the better this rule works, lower ranks cannot communicate properly even when they're friendly let alone toxic pieces of shit.

@@sh1mo7 It's objectively better to just mute, and then after 6 or 12 rounds un-mute again just to see if they started playing nice yet or not. If they're still being toxic or arguing, instantly mute again. Whether you want to un-mute again for another attempt depends on you, but the higher-ranked you are, the more important comms and teamwork become. You can EASILY lose 2v1 situations if you have your teammates muted above Ascendant. Hell, even in Ascendant I've suffered from having teammates muted. Comms are very important, and players will often start playing nice EVENTUALLY, so permanently muting them doesn't make much sense + will lose you RR, but only IF your goal is to actually rank up or improve, and ESPECIALLY if you're trying to improve/rank up QUICKLY. He gotta apologize to Tarik for the hypocrite remark ngl

tarik was still being hypocritical, just means that hooj was once consenting of that behavior. people can change their opinions and actions just like tarik. tarik doesnt really smurf anymore because of what hooj said 😂

@@ReyaadGafur Oh I am aware of that. Doesn't change that Woohoojin is a hypocrite for all of that. If he can hit radiant, then he can flex on his coaching.

@@ReyaadGafur Oh yeah I remember that. Tarik basically had no way to defend his actions lol. I mean it's respectable if Tarik saw he was in the wrong and changed. Reminds me that some people have a bit of a brain at least. Not like 50% of valorant discord communities where talking to so many people just feels like talking to the same toxic asshole.

Why are you obsessed with Woohojin? Really, there has to be a reason for you to upload a video everyday about his rank grinding? I mean he is a coach, not even a pro player.

What's wrong with posting analysis of the gameplay and teaching people how to improve off of what I see?

I believe that comming “I’m muting Jett. You guys should as well to save your mental” could have changed the trajectory of the entire match. By feeding his ego, you’re enabling his disruptive behavior. You CANNOT manage another person’s emotions. Trying to do so will not-only fail, it will drain your own emotional battery. 🪫

Yeah, it's all ego and frustration on woohoojins part as well. Maby he's just milking the drama for views, but I feel like he could've just muted that Jett at any time as he has muted toxic teammates first round in the past.
