As a white lady who has always been a fan of dreadlocks, I appreciate you saying this. I always found guys sporting dreadlocks to be super handsome no matter what their race. I would wear dreads myself if my hair wasn't so thin. People with full heads of thick hair make for some kick ass dreads and it makes me jealous. :)
@kitomad73575 жыл бұрын
Get them anyways! You can make the sections smaller. My "regular" hair I can wrap a hair tie around it 3 times for a ponytail. I have 63 dreads starting with 5 at the base/nape of my neck. I could have 70 but I left a good section in the front loose. As they mature they shrink and will compact and get thicker. I'm going to start my own dread channel soon. When I do, I'll come back here and comment the name so you can follow and see. Maybe we have the same hair as far as amount and thickness/thinness goes?

I can really only think of three areas/ cultures that have maintained dreadlocks, Africa, certain Hindu's and Buddhists. Jewish were probably one of the last cultures to "leave it behind" if one thinks of a "modern" culture. Oddly enough there's no real history why many cultures did so.

In the bible you will see that the priests of TMH God, always kept their hair in neat and clean order, not allowing their hair to turn to ras/locks/janks/natty. They polled it whenever it got too long and kept their hair well clean. as history shows the Hindus wear it as a sacred way to their god. others who wear the style, do it as a style. so you are correct, other people wore it, it shows very clear our choice.

Okay let’s get to the facts and not deal with assumptions here or what videos or others say, there is a deeper spiritual significance to our hair. The term Dreadlocks comes from a movement called the guerrillas warriors movement who vowed not to cut their hair Haille Selassie former Emperor of Ethiopia was released from exile from resistance against the Italian invasion. These man’s hair become matted and locked over time thus the term “Dreadlocks” was born. LOCKS are just about style, but for us to them it was a statement. It is also known and has been found that the out hair, the nappy, Afro woolly type hair acts as an antenna to transit and receive energy, frequency and messages if knotted true fact. In short out strength lays in our hair, yet a lot of us black man don’t know that about ourselves. Keeping the individual strong and healthy.
@theofficialbigmood81803 жыл бұрын
The Mau mau people of Kenya also faced this as formed dreadlocks as a results of white supremacy in their land. And dreadlocks stood as a symbol to go against anything European or white. This was another form of embracing their African roots and African beauty.
@theofficialbigmood81803 жыл бұрын
Also to add on my point, locks also represent a lions mane. That’s why the even the Rasta flag has a lion on it because they know and acknowledge the origins of the hair and it’s story that it represents.

You need to study more about spirituality. Your hair isn't any more spiritual than your skin. Everything is made up of energy. Not just hair. And no message isn't stored in tbis hair. Research on energy and frequency please. You have been misinformed. There is nothing spiritual about dreadlocks. It's just matted hair. If there was, we would loose our spirituality when we cut. The things of the spirit are spirit. You don't have to have dreadlocks to be Rasta. It is a divine conception of the heart. The spirit world is not limited to 3 dimensional reality. Nothing on earth more spiritual than another. Not the church or the mosque, not the cross, clothes, the sun the moon. Nothing. Please research on the things of the spirit. I have been a high priest way before I locked my hair. It can be a symbol of your spirituality but it does not make you any spiritual with or without them. The things of the spirit are spirit. We are spirit beings. Your way of thinking is very carnal and earthly. Come up higher.
