I think human nature is tuomas’s most challenging work. It relies less on metal riffs to power the bridges and the compositions feel more prog than metal. It’s as if tony banks circa foxtrot was writing those transactions.

Beautiful & *Powerfully* inspiring arrangement. This made my morning, after a particularly long, frustrating night. So, whether you want it or not, here’s the story... (consider this comment as a journal entry of sorts; gotta vent somehow 😁) I’m a mother. I have two children. Raising children between the ages of 1 - 4 is HARD!!! But I don’t have a child that age, so why complain. My children are both independent adults now, after all! So what’s the problem, you (didn’t) ask? My dog. My 7 pound chihuahua/mini dachshund mix (a chiweenie, as they’re called). He’s about 2.5 years old and drove me out of my mind ALL NIGHT. He wouldn’t go to sleep, was running all over my bed, and when he would finally chill and I fell asleep, I’d be awakened soon after by him trying to climb over my head at the top of my pillow. He woke me up again when he kicked me right in that place that knocks the air out of you while he was wiggling around trying to get comfortable. And again woke me up by trying to squeeze his way in to create some sort of comfy space between my feet. Again when he walked right over me, more like climbed, tumbled, and landed in a way that hit me in the back so hard I jumped (I was asleep-ish on my side). He climbed over my head a couple more times, also, and once started licking my face for I don’t know how long before but I woke up with his tongue halfway up my nose. 🤢 So, yeah... long, annoying night. Like when my kids were toddlers. So I finally got up and out of bed 3 hours earlier than usual, grumpy and ready to fling him from the nearest trebuchet. Lucky for him, ours in the shop for repairs. 😐 Here’s where this video comes in. I am NOT a morning person! So I let the monster, sorry, "dog" out to do his thing while I made myself a hot mug of coffee. I let him back in and I went outside to wake up in the peace of my backyard. I need music like air, to the degree that I have my headphones on from the time I get up until I go to bed, often falling asleep with them on (last night I fell asleep halfway through the new NW album 🥰). So I figured I go through KZbin while I had my coffee and saw this on my front page. I’m not joking that when I saw it, in my head I said "yayyyy!!! Dean made another cover!!!" So I listened and even though I shouldn’t be surprised by now, the arrangement was even better than I expected. Seriously. I should know better. It’s always gonna be super great. So your cover completely changed my mood and the tone of my morning. Then I saw Gabriel there at the end. 🥰🥰😭😭🥰🥰 I remembered immediately how much joy and fun a toddler brings to your life, balancing out the frustrating, annoying, and scary parts. I remembered the years my children were toddlers and how great it felt just to be near them; to be climbed on, hugged, kissed, accidentally head-butted or smacked full force in the eye with an original gameboy... Everyone knows your animals are like your kids. Benni (I named him after Chester Bennington of Linkin Park since I got him 2 months after Chester passed away), my little doggo, is my baby now that my kids are grown. After seeing you with Gabriel and remembering my children at that age, how could I stay mad at Benni? So you made my day start off better, by default making Benni’s day better. Thank you thank you thank you!!! Keep playing. You’re positively affecting lives in ways you’d never think of. 😊🤘🏻

Beautiful arrangement! If you don't want to write down your music, how about releasing MIDI file from your final version? That would capture your arrangement with very higher detail and I think nowadays some software exists to convert MIDI recording directly to music sheets.

Yeah, thought as much. I just watched your almost 10 year old Ever Dream and compared to this you've certainly got much better dynamics in your playing technique. I see you're still very fond of playing forte. The album is chock full of Most Important Songs, and this first track certainly is one of them. It's a great piano transcription and well played.

sometimes solo piano brings out more by being less. there is a rick wakeman solo piano performance of 'close to the edge' that surpasses the original. all the nuances come to forefront.
