I grew up in Grays Harbor. Went to both schools in Aberdeen and Hoquiam. I graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1981. Go Grizzlies! I left as soon as I could as there was a recession and no job opportunities. Plus, I was and still am a free thinking female. I wanted more culture than what that area offered. Off I went to Seattle in 85. I got involved in the Music industry and was so lucky to be there for the whole Seattle Music Scene Explosion! I saw EPIC PERFORMANCES! I was so Proud that Nirvana came from my home town. The first time I saw the video for Smells like Teen Spirit, I flipped out! I was trying to explain to my then boyfriend; That's a Pep Assembly! We had to Endure them! The A is both for Aberdeen HS and Anarchy! This is genius. This speaks to me! I understand this completely! I was blown away! Then, running into Krist at an Aberdeen Club during Thanksgiving while were both home to visit family. We gravitate towards eachother because it's obvious we are back from Seattle. It was great meeting him but, we were both pretty drunk. I am still so Proud of Nirvana. Proud of Kurt and Krist sharing how it was to grow up there. Sometimes it was such a Shithole.
