Every time I return to this story it is different, and painful in subtly new ways.

He seems generally ok at first even if not he kind of guy I'd want to spend time with. But as the story goes on, he gets sadder and more desperate. By the very end, he finally tips into the "wow, this guy sucks" category

Imagine being such a lame person that you sleep with someone you don’t like and for what? Sex is supposed to be intimate and special. And Margot is so desensitized to it that she slept with someone she didn’t know or find attractive. Not to even mention Robert being weird and immature.

Sex isn't always intimate and special for some people. Some like it because it's fun, feels good, and that casual sex can be fun. Nothing in this novel is outright abusive (apart from the ending), and both characters were consenting adults and I think the lead just wanted to experiment. I doubt Margot really felt in control of the situation at all and was trying to convince herself that she was. I think the relationship between Robert and Margot continued by Margot giving Robert her number was out of Margot 1, not wanting to come off as rude or disrespectful, 2, she wanted to experiment (she's in college, it's what people do there), and 3, she was somewhat manipulated by Robert's attempts. There is a difference between outright insulting someone or mocking them and turning someone down. This story is incredibly accurate to a lot of experiences many young girls have had. Just look at the comments, think about the author. It's not hard to think of where the author got the idea and inspiration to write this.

Margot isn't a perfect character. You could make the case that "Sex is supposed to be intimate and special" and perhaps that's what this story is getting at. Margot sleeps with Robert on their 'first date' out of an impulse and it leads to Robert becoming abusive and creepy to her. When Margot was just texting or talking to Robert, Robert was a lot more disconnected and they were both having a lot more fun in the relationship.

The worst person in all of this is Tamara. Second is Robert because being the oldest involved, he should know better and have more emotional and social sophistication…. But I guess that would have entered in ridiculous fiction territory as the average man doesn’t gain any development, sxual skills or sophistication past age 16…

Strange, really enjoyed reading it and thought it is to reflect how neurotic, insecure and sexually immature women are today. Then Roupenian said in an interview that she likes Margot. What a misunderstanding.

Did... did you even read the story? It's clearly about how Robert is childish, to the point of dating a girl that is twenty when he's in his mid thirties. How can you misunderstand a story so badly?!
