Good observation and question Rock Princess. To my knowledge J.J. currently does not smoke or drink and according to some interviews I've read, she mentioned how she has not smoked since she left the Runaways, which sorta implies that she may have smoked when she was a member of the Runaways, but I can't say for a certainty that she did in fact smoke. I tried googling this topic and couldn't find any irrefutable proof that J.J. did in fact smoke cigarettes. So thanks for mentioning this and for watching.

Back Than while Joan Jett was in the runaways she admitted to smoking drinkin and drug use... but if you watch her interviews she is serious about music and therefore she quit drug use.. because she new alcohol on tour is bad for your vocals... and tthat drugs will make her unhealthy... also witnessing Cherrie Curries drug addiction may influenced to quit as she didnt want to last "a week of fame" as she was serious about music and her health

I love the movie and kristens performance, the only thing she didn't get tho was joans muscle mass, which is pretty respectable but it only recently came to my attention so I guess it doesn't really matter

Judging by the footage I've seen of Joan when she was with the Runaways, she often wore long sleeved outfits especially while performing on stage. So I'm guessing many would probably be unaware of the toned physique she had as a 16-year-old budding rock star. Of course it became more obvious during the years ahead after she joined the Blackhearts and would often wear sleeveless outfits which revealed her muscular physique. And yes Julia, it never ceases to amaze me how J.J.'s kept her fitness physique from her teen years up until now.

@@kokoleka808 not withstanding her bone thug harmonizing vibrato on the diddler dates of the late 70’s. The Bean Bag tour was epic! Some of the best behind the scene’s videography ever recorded in those days. My cousin Lamonte always referred to her as Rock Hard Rock Star.
