Thank you for confirming that. I'm a "city kid", but I've traveled our whole country speaking to audiences of veterinarians and people who work with animals on farms, and other venues. When it comes to a vicious animal, or one too ill to live, there are humane ways to ease them into death. Noem is rationalizing her sadism. I feel concerned for her children, having such a mother. I hope child protective services goes to that home and evaluates each child for traumatic abuse from her.

The gravel pit is next to the school bus stop. Her son arrived soon after asking "Where's Cricket?" The same story also said the dog was a terrier. Terriers are NOT bird dogs. Unless the horse was injured and you're "putting it out of its misery," the expression I remember for old horses is to "put out to pasture." Every single one of them would drop everything they are doing to board a plane or drive 12 hours across 4 states to pick up a dog that wasn't working out for a client.
