This is the workflow for reshaping a SVG-file (vector file) to fit nicely on a cone.

Wow. Head spinning. I use sheet metal mode (with SVGs) to create rings and bracelets with no issues because I am using a simple circle or ellipse. I extrude the SVG directly on the unfolded body then refold it and delete the flange. I tried using cones in the past and now I understand why I couldn't do it right. I'm probably going to review this video a billion times to get my workflow correct. Thanks!

Yeah a lot of people get this geometry incorrect :) I have read in some places that there will be an update to Emboss in Fusion replicating the workflow in this video, but no timeline on then it will be done.

@@KristianLaholm An improved emboss most likely would not help me in my use unless it creates new bodies just like extrude. I need to be able to manipulate those bodies then combine them with the target.

@@KristianLaholm I use sheet metal as a warping/envelope tool (similar to CorelDraw/Illustrator envelope tool). If Emboss allowed me to create new bodies I would be using it on ring and bracelet designs. I have a few videos up on the end result of using the sheet metal technique.

You lost me on that one. It is high level fusion going on there.

This is a bit specific. If you don't need this type of designs the workflow is mostly a fun exercise in overworking a workflow ;)

Yup, I would rather wait for the update if I need this :)

WOW!!! Amazing. Would this also work if I bend the Logo as vector file and then use as emboss, right?
@KristianLaholm Жыл бұрын
If you bend the vector file outside of Fusion you only need a tangent plane and can then emboss the sketch. (the sheet metal fiddling is for making it all in Fusion)

Nicely done. you might save a few steps by using the recently added "flange/loft" to make the 1st sheetmetal cone.

That's good thinking :)

Hello, do you have a trick to create chamfers to any type of geometry, since fusion gives errors in curved geometries with very closed angles.
@KristianLaholm11 ай бұрын
To my knowledge there are no tricks, if the geometry is bad chamfers will fail.
