Please expound. She sounds pretty good. What issue? I didn’t catch it. I’m just glad that she enunciated the Ts. Another recent artist just skins through it as if there are no Ts in the word. Drives me nuts. Trying to find the artist Fisk Playa. I like her rendition best. The quality of her voice & the dynamics of the band.

I can see you’re a singer and you’re fantastic. But from what I can see, this is “direct to disc” One take. As in live. Old school. She’s really pulling from Nina Simone who is also very rough around the edges. and most importantly if you look at the comments we are all touched by the truthfulness of her emotion. Miles Davis missed all kinds of notes in his groundbreaking work. Listen to Herbie Hancock’s “driftin”… after his solo when he comes back to the melody, he makes a glaring mistake in timing. That’s the take that had the magic. so they used it as is. this is the take that had the magic for Kristin and the band. The Jazz masters of the 40s and 50s didn’t give a shit about clams. have a heart. this is one of the best if not THE best version I’ve heard so far. I like it more than the DiAnne Reeves version & not just because of the hip-hop beat.
