A great ending story to this. George made two more attempts to make this work. On the third try, he was successful in completing the piece and soon after George shipped it to Kristina"s studio. Patience and tenacity, not willing to quit, finally paid off. Hats off to George!

I'd love to see the video of Kristina finishing this piece! Fascinating video, and I love the idea of multiple people collaborating on a single masterpiece! Props to George as well, because GOOD LORD I wouldn't be able to carry all that weight! XD

Someone else named Dane :D Always catches me by surprise! Great videography and presentation, as always!

Wonderful as always! As I was watching the bowl grow to its largest size in the reheater, I got to thinking how helpful it might be if there was an overhead monitor to show the gaffer the inside view as we were able to view in the video. You could have the doors more closed to keep the heat in, and still see what you're doing.

Who is George? Could he be mentioned in the description? Actually, I'd love to see and entire dramatis personae and cast list, so to speak. (Corning Museum will always be a hub, but the more successful its diaspora, the more successful it will subsequently be.) The stories of individual artists as they progress is inspiring, and the documentation of them really shouldn't be as exclusive as it has been for hundreds of years, not now that we have the interwebs. I'd love to search for a name and have the videos in which they assisted in days of yore pop up. :)

has anyone ever dropped a piece a glass art when it's on the pole?

it's sad that after all that work the piece broke as they were removing it from the punty. 😞
