I don't see how anyone could play this better. Also, top-rank audio and video quality. A sparkling gem in a sea of muck that is our current "culture".

Incredible. Each of those descending bass notes in the final coda seemed to encapsulate all eternity. So well-crafted and thought-out !!

Terrifying, how secure Kristina Miller is able to realize such contrasts technically and in a musical sense, She has supernatural power when taking us into the world of this intense piece. In one second you are standing at the edge to hell and at the very end it is like the whole music opens up to a universe, beautiful and eternal. This perfomance is extraordenary!

Dear Kristina, yours is an incredible performance, in which you return all the sense of magnificence, narrative and at the same time epic of this Sonata. You are a pianist of fantastic talent and great sensitivity (not to mention the side of the purely transcendental technique, really amazing for the disconcerting ease with which you perform things to the limits of human possibilities). I’ve listened to many of your other amazing performances on KZbin and I hope to listen to you live one day. In the meantime, I wish you all the best for the rest of your brilliant career (ah, and I can’t wait to hear your Hammerklavier)!

Fantastic! A very deep interpretation of this unique and fantastic Sonata. She is a virtuoso but technique for her is just a meaning for reaching the highest level of musicality. Stellar!

been browsing through pianistic achievements for the past couple of days here on yt ... the ai doesn't do you justice at all. only found you when watching a petty clip on bumble bee comparisons. but then the ai isn't human is it :) wow. you surely have a great future ahead, it's inevitable i guess, as long as this world still continues on. reviving the original (kind of 'ancient' now) pianistic tradition that faded out with corporatism and technocracy after cziffra is needed. hard to remain free and independent, though, after success truly knocks on one's door ... ps: interesting, the vienna connection. small world, i always say :)

I’ve just finished watching and listening carefully to this amazing video, Kristina. I just want to say that it made me dream again with Liszt’s music. Thanks for that. You are a master of how to finish each phrase, you always nail it. Besides that, you shed light on some passages I haven’t got till now. Thanks again. From my standpoint your interpretation is at same level as Yundi Li’s and Krystian Zimmerman’s.

Please tell me you have a sheet music teleprompter. Bloody classical musicians and they're memory work, y'all freak me out. Mad good playing though 💕 P.s Liszt ripped off a lot of Alkans chops but he DID still write some crazy good shit
2 жыл бұрын
Dear Zane, that's right classical musicians have hours upon hours of such music memorized, to the point of being able to play them without any help from a score. There's nothing magical about it actually. First, for anyone at that level of musicianship, you hear every detail of the score with utmost acuity, just by being exposed to it repeatedly. So that's a first level of memory that serves as a global map of "what should be played next". Then, by working on the score, one notices the many patterns upon which it is built. You don't have to memorize every single note, it's more : ok this section has this arpeggio for 4 measures, except on the third there's an alteration here. Likewise, the right hand uses this scale etc. So the musician memorizes not the notes, but the blueprint of the music, its "data". This, working together with the aforementioned aural memory, is already a very powerful combo. Then comes the digital memory : after playing the same thing hundreds of time, the nervous system creates pathways to reproduce the exact same movements. Again, not much effort here, just time and repetition. And finally, for musicians with sight at least, there's a visual memory of what we're playing, though this one, in my experience, tends to activate when learning a piece, but recedes once the digital memory is in place ! Hope that gives you some insight. When you think of it, that's nothing different than a comedian learning a 3h Shakespeare play, or a dancer with a choreography. That's a very natural process that comes with in-depth exposure with the material. Best.
